My friend Julie used to make a big thing out of it and I followed suit. On Groundhog day we gather with friends, wear brown clothes, eat brown food (lots of chocolate and gingerbread among other things) and sing brown songs. Brown songs are those songs with any color mentioned in them, but you change the word to "brown". Of course there's "Little Brown Jug", but also "Brown Christmas" and "Brown Suede Shoes" etc. This way we all can crack up laughing and have a bit of fun in the middle of a cold winter.

Since 1886,Punxsutawney Phil has seen his shadow 96 times,
hasn't seen it 15 times and there are no records for 9
years, according to the Punxsutawney Groundhog club.

Yes, I celebrate Ground Hogs' Day. It is my birthday and it was always a ritual. I had to go out to see if I saw my shadow. I was born at 1:15 am. How many times do you think I saw my shadow at that time of day??? Never!!! But this day is very special to me. I am known as a groundhog in my family.

One of my grandmothers was born on Groundhog's Day 1901. Another was born April Fool's Day 1907.

I've found the perfect dessert to celebrate Ground Hog Day
with. Since this day has already passed this year, guess that
everyone will have to wait until next year to make it. I
would have just copied off the recipe, but by going through
the website link you can see a picture of these cute Ground
Hog cupcakes.
