Hey Tina

That would be fine but the last time I did a job at the airport I had to do about 15 stores and was there for close to 4 or more hours.

If you do the shops for BAI, they cover the parking.

Run, run and run faster from audits of Vitamin stores. You think at $29 it sounds like a great shop...Think again. I had to submit over 20 photos, label them exactly they want it, then you have match them up with the question numbers and finally your files must be really small. Don't forget the 40 pages you need to print out. RUN RUN RUN.

It's funny, I just did a vitamin store audit a month or so ago and loved it. I'm a bit particular about trying to make sure that my pictures show as much as possible so I took a lot of pictures and weeded out the best ones. I thought that the report was very simple since you really only had to expand when the display was not correct and they gave a lot of leeway in terms of number of acceptable errors.

I think the total time in the store for me was less than 2 hours and maybe 20-30 minutes for the report. That was still a pretty decent hourly wage as far as I was concerned. I was hoping there would be more of them coming up, but haven't seen any lately. Maybe it's a quarterly thing?

I guess it just depends on what you enjoy. I also love the cell phone picture audits and did about 10 of them last month. Audits are great for me because there is no upfront cost.

There're very few jobs I won't consider, but the below ring a bell in my mind:

1.No fee, partial reimbursement restaurants.
2.Any job commissioned by world wide soda companies.
3.Jobs offered by MSC with whom I've had payment problems.
4.Low paying/high work/considerable expenses assignments.

I neither shop for fun, nor to fill my hrs.; for me, it's all about the money.

Hahaha, I have two vitamin store audits in the next two weeks. I'm actually looking forward to them. I'm pretty detail-oriented, AND I'm a photographer. These might end up being the most well-composed audit pics they've gotten in a while!

I won't do FF shops for a major company. I hate the forms. I got a call to do one and I told them I didn't like their form, too long for what ya get. They would have to raise the price to $15.00 for me to even consider it. I also won't do those Casino shops. Some shops just aren't worth any amount of money.

Sue, I know what FF company you're talking about, but I don't mind the forms. Of course, I sit and wait for the fee to go up, since there's no way I'll do them at the original fee.

I hate the electronics form for another company. SO SO tedious!

I used to do a lot more shops, but these days, I won't even start my car for less than $15 -- unless it's a 5 minute shop that's less that 5 blocks form my house. Heh.

I've been doing shops part time since 1994 and I took almost all of this past year off. I recently started again and am astonished at how little the MS companies are offering these days. Umm... you want me to print out 15 pages of instructions, interact with 5 different employees, get 4 different timings, purchase AND return, then fill out a report that's time consuming and frustrating.

**Cost of the shop, including printing, gas, time spent at location, time writing up report and postage because a faxed copy of the receipt just won't do: $25-$30
**Compensation Offered: $6, including required purchase
**Me falling off my chair with laughter: Priceless!

I won't do FF Shops for the most part. All the split second timings make me crazy, plus you can't order what you actually want to eat. The forms on those things are usually frustrating. Also the ones where you have to go through the Drive thru AND walk-in? No way. The ONE time I did it, the employee said, "oh, didn't you just go through the drive-thru?" Doh! I was caught! I just said, "oh, yeah, but my husband just called and changed his mind about eating" and that seemed to satisfy her.

I do reveal shops, but I limit them to places I don't normally shop either as a private person or as a shopper. I won't do the reveal shops where YOU have to supply the cash reward. I really don't feel like giving the MS company an interest-free loan, especially when it takes them 30-90 days to reimburse me and there's always the chance that something could go wrong and I won't be paid. Forgetaboutit.

I also really hate the shops where you have to write a difference sentence for each and every "no" answer. I mean, COME ON.. what part of "NO" is hard to understand?

Was the employee wearing a hat? Y/N? No.
Explain: The employee was not wearing a hat.

Did the employee offer a beverage? Y/N? No.
Explain: The employee did not suggest a beverage.

I love fine dining shops ~ especially the ones that want a very detailed narrative instead of 4,000 yes/no answers. But I will only do the ones that pay for the entire meal. Of course I do prefer to get ones that also pay for writing up the report.. but hey, if I'm getting a $100-$200 meal, I don't mind so much.

I won't do hotels unless they are upscale. Let's just say I learned that the hard way. ::shudder::

I won't do targeted apartment shops -- it's just too much time/effort trying to get a hold of the right person.

Another cheapie shop offered at a dress chain. Offering $11.00 "pay" yet they require you to buy something? I would like to know what article of clothing at any decent store costs less than $11.00 anymore- Rotsa ruck LOL

I just completed the shop that I think you are referring to. The price is low, but I wanted to shop in the store anyway. So, I basically am being paid for remembering a few things long enough to submit a report - not for the shop itself. As far as what can you buy for $11. Well... I managed to find quite a few things. :) I love those 60% off racks. Suzan

I am so desperate right now that I am taking almost anything. I don't really care if I don't like it. If the pay is not insultingly low then I'll take it. I RARELY do CoRI though, their fees are ridiculous. My least favorite are return and purchases :\

I'm not desperate , but I do a few fast food every month. Once you have it down, it's not so difficult. Of course, I usually do them if Raj calls me rather than selecting from the website. I have been very pleased to log on to see that he's tacked on a decent bonus, even when I haven't asked for one.

I love movie shops, but recently got a solicitation for one that paid a whopping $6 for two shows. That's roughly $1.50/hr AT BEST. Thanks, but I'll wait for the DVD.

Gee, Chris, you just couldn't help it, could you?

As said many times on other threads, your Gold certification does not mean you get all the fabulous jobs thrown at you.
But you knew that...

Yeah, I wish it brought me riches, lol. Actually, I can't complain too much. I'm pulling in over $1,000 every couple of weeks from just mystery shopping. I just really need the money.

Pretzel stand audits with digital photos of ALL non-compliant items and 12-hour deadlines.

Say there are 75 NON-compliant item photos (plus more non-compliant items that you can't photograph 'cause they're missing). There are only spaces to upload half the photos. Pick and choose the ones that gross you out the most at midnight?

Maybe if I'd just stoppped and called the health department to shut them down, then I could have submitted it as "closed" with a single photo...

I do a lot of gas station audits, which I love. However, sometimes I get taken off guard when I'm naming pics and come across the disgusting toilet or whatever at any particular station. My stomach immediately churns and the urge to hurl wells up...

Mostly they're not a problem, but the occasional super-gross one sets me off...
