It's just another day to me - I'm not superstitious anymore.

I'm not superstitious either, but once I did have my car moved on a Friday the 13th. I was parked in a pay lot and I guess someone who had a car that looked just like mine hadn't paid. They called a tow truck who started moving MY car. In the middle of moving it they realized it was the wrong car and parked it near the front of the lot. So as I was walking to the parking space where I had parked in the back, I came across my car parked up front.
It was a very odd feeling and I had to wait until the next Monday to find out what happened.

Lisa, I had that happen to me once. I even got so far as to call the police cuz it was a huge parking structure and I could not find my car. I was hysterical cuz it was late at night in downtown San Francisco. The parking company was completely unapologetic.

Amy K, it is the oddest feeling isn't it. Good for you for calling the police. I was just confused when it happened to me and I spent the whole weekend wondering if I was going insane. But I knew for a fact that I had parked further away.

Otherwise I can't think of anything odd that's happened on Friday the 13th, except one year Halloween fell on a Friday the 13th and it was also a full moon. It was warm too and the sky had this kind of cool orange look to it.

Friday the 13th doesn't scare me at all, but the fact that I'm turning 40 that day does!!!

That is so funny, Lisa. When my daughter and her husband split up several years ago he drove a small car, I can't remember what kind but it wasn't the same kind as mine but the keys look similar. We saw his car in the mall parking lot one night as we were walking to my car and I said jokingly as we walked by, why don't I just use my key and take his car. I stuck the key in the lock and by golly it unlocked it. It wouldn't start the car, though, so we put it in neutral and pushed it a couple of rows over, locked it back and went about our business.

How can Halloween fall on a Friday the 13th? Isn't it always October 31?

You are of course right - I was wrong - must have been one of those all nighters with the kids that made me say something so crazy.

SO I take that back - but there was a Halloween here once that had a full moon, was on a Friday night and was warm - that's sort of a big deal here.

Aw, Lisa, I thought the original post was meant as a joke! Why did you have to spoil it and own up to it being a boo-boo?

What I want to know is what happened to MTindle to make him (or her) say that they aren't superstitious *anymore* - what happened to change it?

Nah, I'm not afraid of Friday the thirteenth!

Any of these things could happen on any other day, and do.

But if you ask medical people (and police) about a full moon, that is another story. Some of the strangest things happen when there is a full moon ~ and nobody will ever be able to convince me otherwise.

Carrie, I worked in an ER for several years many moons ago and I could not agree with your more about the effect of full moons. I don't put any credence in Friday the 13th, except in jest, but full moons are real.
