This question requires just a yes or no answer.

Does anyone know if Cracker Barrel participates in mystery shopping programs?

Thanks
ShaSha

P.S. I am not looking for anyone to violate his or her ICAs. I did a search on the forum but I did not see anything.

I did a job for them last year, but it was a competitor shop for another restaurant chain.

I did a shop at Cracker Barrel for a competitor last year. I haven't seen one for just Cracker Barrel though.

Cracker Barrel has its own team of mystery shoppers. It's normally managers from other stores, or regional trainers. I'd sure love to do one. :-)

I've never had the pleasure of MSing for Cracker Barrel, but I got to eat there on the house once. When they first opened in our area, a man walked into my office, introduced himself and asked me how many people worked there. I was still trying to figure out what he was selling and how to politely get rid of him when he handed me four free dinner coupons (dinner, drink AND dessert) for each of us - 28 free meals in all! He said they just wanted to make sure we got to try Cracker Barrel because he was sure we'd go back for more. I keep looking for him and hoping he'll show up again sometime!

Just got off the phone with a nice man at the Cracker Barrel corporate office who told me he knows the company is shopped by an "independent company" but could give no details. He said it is a well-kept secret and most people in the company don't know, including himself.

So what's a Southern girl craving some biscuits and cornbread going to do? Ask her Volition pals! Anyone shopped for them? I saw them a few years back with a well-known Volition company but haven't seen them since. Thanks for any help!

There are locations in my area but I have yet to see or receive an opportunity for an assignment.

I have seen Cracker Barrel shops, by an independent scheduler, but the nearest one is about 30 miles away, and it was a breakfast meal.
I am not driving 30 miles at 7 AM for a free breakfast!

This information may be out-of-date or it's possible that I was misinformed in the first place.

But in 2003, I waitressed at a Cracker Barrel over my summer break. I was told (I didn't ask, but we were told) that the company used internal mystery shoppers that worked out of HQ. Since all the location are company-owned (no franchises) this sort-of made sense.

However, as others have said, even if this is the case there is always the hope of competitor shops.

I did a competitor shop there over a year ago, the one where you had to talk with the manager. That is the only one I've ever seen.
