| Hi all!!! Just getting back from computer virus nightmare. Everyone please be careful w/ your E-mail programs. Norton popped up w/ a warning & while I was trying to respond little roaches started crawling on my screen & eating the page. Had to have everything wiped out. Anyway; Heather it looks like you are having fun. Is the HH w/Driveline? I just did 5 InnComm plans w/ 1 to go. I didn't understand some of that inventory sheet. They ask about the Visa by fee & $ amount. Same # on it. I liked the job though! I was wondering if we did Food lion as well. Anybody know who does reading glasses in Wally world & Food Lion. That is my favorite job |

AP, a different company takes care of the phone displays in Food Lion. A whole different report than DGs' InComm.
Does anybody know if we are required to have two people do the detergent compactions or can we do them by ourselves? DG looks a lot easier than FD . I don't see why we need two people for that one. |

| Gayle, the note that I got from my DM said that the DG's we could do alone if we wanted, and the FD we should have at least one partner if not two, other than ourselves. |

| Tina; I do not work for SS yet. Hopefully I will soon. Suze do we not have an area coodinator? They should cover your stores while you're gone. If I lived closer, I'd do it for you. My area person works under Carolyn. She only goes as far as Robbins & Seagrove in you direction. We work together on all project work. We are doing all resets together so we can get done faster cause we have alot on the schedule for this month. Oh well it looks like we'll be making some money though.... |

I've never heard of an area coordinator, so I can't give an honest answer to that. My DM told me to try to find someone. Ummm... And who would I ask?
I will do as muc as I can on the Mon and Tues before I leave, and the rest, I guess will be done late.
Not fair to me, since I gave her over a month notice that I'd be gone those two weeks... but I really don't expect to get any help.
I do have a flex person that I got put on payroll, but it's not someone that I can send to the store to do work without me. |

Suze, if you look on your profile page, it should show who your DM's boss is as well.
Do you have any of your co-workers email addresses? Send something out and see if someone can cover for you? Problem is, it would need to be reassigned temporarily (just the jobs) to the person covering. |

Yes, my work for the next few weeks has a lot of jobs. Another company I work for I just got done counting them and I have 33 jobs at 6 stores, so work is picking up. |

| Suze, E-mail me. I don't have yours saved on this computer. There's a new hire in Troy that travels to Sanford. She may be willing to cover your stores. Alice |

My gift card audit went well. I too pics and transmitted everything fine!! My helper was not prepared but he will be next time. The job was much more complicated than I realized and took longer but we got it done AOK. The HH worked like a dream and I could follow my notes from the training call to make it work perfect!!! |

| I was just asked to pick up a target gift card job for this week. I'm going to be doing it at the end of the week. I hope it's not too difficult. Any tips would be appreciated. |

| Well, I've got 3 out of 4 of my rack resets done as of today. I don't know what the deal is, but this 15R we did today seemed to be a WHOLE lot easier and less frustrating than the first 2 -- which were 13Rs. Anyone else think they're easier to do for some reason? |

| I think the order of the pocket IDs on the 15R is better than the 13R. The 15R goes from 3300 straight down to 3365 (for an example) while the 13R doesn't do that in every column. Some of the 13R columns start with a new series of numbers in the middle or towards the end of the column which throws the rhythm of the whole thing off, at least for me. |

| Did my first P&G compaction today for FD. This is by far my least favorite job. Broke 2 nails and my partner drew blood. These boxes are a bear to open. Be prepared for a workout. Hope everyone has a great day! Alice |

I did the P&G compaction yesterday too, but didn't have a partner assigned. It was an easy uncomplicated reset as they said on the training call, but brutally physical.
I found not only opening the boxes hard, but breaking them down even worse. I asked the manager what they do for those boxes and she told me to make a deep cut x with the box cutter on the bottom of the boxes and then they'll collapse. I can't believe I didn't know this, but then again as merchandisers we usually get boxes that have been opened and received, and are much flimsier. I can usually just collapse the box from the side near the bottom and rip the tape down the bottom to break most boxes I deal with. Or, as in some of the places I work, we can just throw them into the compactor whole and let it do the work! I don't know if any FD's have compactors but mine doesn't.
I had cards and the insecticide audit to do but left those for today. I was just too worn out to stay and do them. |

| Dawnann - When you were doing the FD compaction plan alone, how long did it take to complete? |

The P&G compaction did take about the whole 7 hours for me alone (a bit more because of a really overcrowded back room). It would have taken longer but the manager took my flattend boxes out to the dumpster for me, helped a bit with setting the old 1x product on the endcap, but basically I did most of it myself. Sore body to prove it.

| I'd like to know how many of you are working w/ one other person and it's still taking 5 hrs. I did 3 compactions today and the first one took 2 of us 5 hrs. These shelves looked like they had just been fully stocked. Then we weren't allowed to use an endcap. Helpful tip here; remember the little red thing we had from the FD card resets? These worked great for those stubborn boxes. The last 2 we had 3 people and it took 2 hrs. 15 min.. Don't even get me started on the nasty shelves. I was told these are cleaned once a year. I actually scrapped one store w/ a putty knife. This job really needs to pay more! Suze, did you get a help E-mail for Castle Hayne today, Where is that? Alice |

I saved that little red thing from the FD card reset too. I was doing a reset for a different company and used it to scrape off old price labels. Worked great and didn't scratch the painted fixtures at all!
For the P & G reset I found the shelf strips were sometimes stubbornly stuck in the channel. To remove them I used a staple remover I bought at Staples. It's a long black tool with a metal piece at the end. I think I read about this in this forum when they were talking about removing Upromise tags. Glad I bought it, it has been handy for lots of jobs.
