Is anyone else having problems with the photo upload feature. I have not had troubles with it until this week. Scheduler told me that it only worked on Mozilla Firefox so I put that on my computer and was able to use it but it still took several minutes to upload a photo even after I resized it. Tonight I am having no luck after a half hour of trying. I had one picture uploading for ten minutes and no luck at all.Thanks for any feedback.

Sometimes the photo upload times out. What I do is close the window, save the form, and try again in a couple minutes.

Thanks Jeff. I would do what you suggested too but it still would not work later. I was able to find out what works and what I was not doing right. Some files I had resized were 110 kb. and would always time out or just not load after several minutes. I went back to the program and was able resize them even smaller. Seems like anything over 50kb times out or takes LONG time. It also use to work on Explorer for me but not any longer. Always a challenge keeping up with technologyThanks again.

Odd. I don't have any problems at all uploading photographs, and only resize when there is a specific request. I have a high speed cable modem (FIOS) connection, so maybe that makes a difference. I use Firefox and IE interchangeably for Mintel (there is another MSC which says they are not compatible with Firefox, and they mean it. Must be owned by Bill Gates!

Does anyone know if Mintel ever bonuses their billboard shops? One was originally due 10/31 and they keep pushing the due date back by a couple of days, but don't raise the pay. I am interested in doing it if I can get some other shops in the area (it's about 1 1/2 hours away), but I'm wondering if I should grab it or wait and see. Any advice? Thanks!

It is well worth sending a message to your scheduler, Lori. The people I have worked with there (particularly Gelson) are delightful.

Does anyone else ever have a problem logging in to their website? I can't log in any more. It always tells me the email/password does not belong to a registered user. Thinking that possibly I had the wrong data saved for them, I used the "please help me" link. The email I received provided my information, which was exactly what I had been using. Ok, try copy-paste to see if that works. Nope. But the email has an auto-login link that works just peachy.

Now I pull up the email and click the link to gain access, but that seems really inefficient. I just don't understand why putting in what they tell me they want doesn't work, but the link does, so clearly something works right.

Sandi,

Have you tried maybe using it on a different browser? I have that same issue with a couple of my MSC companies, especially those on the ShopMetric system. Sometimes it will work, and sometimes not. It is very frustrating.

I recently finished my first job for this company, and I think they are outstanding. I had to go to the mall after work and photograph certain signs. Well, I did the shop and found NONE of the signs that were supposed to be there. When I got home there was an email saying the due date had been postponed, and that the client had made an error in the dates. The shop was not supposed to start until the next week. I replied to the scheduler using their user-friendly form, and told her that I had just taken 27 photos proving there was no designated signage. She told me to go ahead and submit the shop and I would be paid anyway, since it was the client's error. If only all MSCs were this fair! Now you can bet that Mintel will be one of those companies that I am willing to go "over and above" for. I only wish they had more jobs in my area.

I so agree with Lori B and Julie. I would jump through hoops to work more for Mintel. I wish they would offer more in my area. I've spoken with Gelson and he is a gem. Bravo Mintel!!

The only shops I have seen for this company in my area were menu shops. They wanted me to go to a restaurant and take menus so that I could send them a copy. Did I misunderstand the instructions?

After reading all of your wonderful comments, I signed up with Mintel and have secured 3 jobs for this week. I have a couple of questions and have e-mailed the scheduler 3 times, but haven't had any response. Anyone have advice on how I can get a response? Is there a better way to send an e-mail other than with the links on the assignment page?
