I had that happen, too. It's strange, when you have already been paid. It's the client. Due to the pay cycle we get paid faster than the clients can review the reports. And sometimes the client simply refuses to believe the first time around and needs a more detailed response than a check mark or even short comment can provide. I especially liked the "are you sure? did you look everywhere? it wasn't in use?" question I got the last time. Yeah, I'm sure. I have nothing to gain by arbitrarily marking 'no' Happy to say, the store was in compliance when I happened to stop by there just a few days after that exchange. I wonder if stores are by law required to have that because they were so much in disbelieve about it not being present at all and acted so fast.

Just happy to see some visual result of my work

I have used ones that were buy one get one free for places like ice cream. Just make sure you purchase what is required so you do not make the timings strange by adding things that make take longer.

I asked about using coupons specifically at the ice cream stores and they responded, "Please do not use coupons for this shop."

Coupons for the grocery stores are okay, as long as your total hits the required purchase amount minimum AFTER the coupons are deducted.

Jenna,

Yes, Trendsource treats their shoppers great, so there is a lot of loyalty and little turn over. You can try calling or writing, when you are accepted as a shopper, take whatever you can get until you hit self assign status.

This is my absolute favorite company to work for. They are basically my bread and butter.

Thanks Lynne, I keep hearing they are such an amazing company, I'm really hoping to do shops for them! I will have to try writing or calling, thanks for the tip :)

Has anyone else noticed a lag in their system when you are entering reports? I am noticing it with the business verfications and nothing else. It is taking at least twice the amount of time to enter the reports.

Pam, I did two BVI's the last couple of weeks and noticed that Firefox was extremely slow so when I changed to Explorer the input of the shops was much faster.

Hmmm, I use IE. This only started a few weeks back and it does it on both my laptop and desktop.

Getting on board:
Yes, it can take months before you are listed to see the job board. I took the first thing they offered me to get that access. It has been worth it. I have not repeated that client, but some other shops made it worth it. They have enough clients and shops to make self assign possible in short order assuming you submit a quality shop.

Reporting:
Yes, something must have changed in the scripts a couple of months ago. I started to have the issues with IE 7 and later IE 8. Several pauses while entering comments or changing pages.

I really like the idea that you can include a note to the QA person in each report. The client does not see it, but it allows you to comment on something that may affect the grader's perception of your report.

I do login to this company often. There are others in my area that do the same. I can see that when certain shops are available backup only. Like any company, I have been called to cover a shop as a backup or some distance from me. We have always come to a very reasonable agreement for the shops that require driving a distance outside my trade area.

Did anyone here get referred to Trend Source from an old association with Vision Compliance? That's how I learned about Trend Resource...The folks at Vision Compliance seemed first class to me so if they've joined (or were bought out by Vision Compliance) then I'll bet they're very reputable.

Trend Resource is not the same as the company for this thread, and I'm not familiar with Vision Compliance. However, TrendSource is a very good company, are easy to work with, and best of all, pay quickly!

I found the fix to my problem. I had downloaded the new Windows 7 and IE8. Between the two of them, one created a situation. At the top of the page near the refresh button in window where you type web addresses, there is this little cracked page. If you put the mouse over it, it says "Compatibility View: websites designed for older browsers will often look better, and problems such as out of place menus, images or text will be corrected.

When I clicked on that little cracked page link, I was able to enter my report just like before with no lag in the system when reporting. So far, TrendSource is the only one I have had this situation with.

We will see a lot of that as Win7 becomes more popular Pam. Windows7 operates much differently than XP, and until the developers at the MS companies implement Win7 themselves, we will have quirks in compatibility.
I liked Windows7, but went back to XP because of this.

Hi! Thanks to all of you who posted positive comments on this company. I got an email from them and applied today and have an assignment on Sunday--sounds like a really good company to work for and so far the communication has been excellent. Thanks, again!

This will NOT happen often, but check this out. I did a shop Thursday the 4th. I reported it Thursday late in the evening. It was reviewed and approved on Friday in time for the to be added to the 5th of the month DD pay cycle. It was just a matter of unplanned good timing.
They pay twice a month ... about the 5th and 20th.

This is one of a very few companies that are set for my email to send me a text message when email comes in from them. Otherwise, I will only get leftovers when I get to the assignments offered board. They seem to have plenty of shoppers in the area.

Jeff,

It actually happens often. The next payday in on a Saturday, so payments won't be processed until Monday the 22nd. Any shops completed that weekend will most likely be paid on that Monday.

They have set times to release shops. Sometimes you can get a scheduler to let you know when that will happen, other times you just have to figure it out. They release grocery shops on a specific day and time in my area. I'm sitting here refreshing the screen every few seconds for the 1/2 hour before until they post or I would get the nasty stores.

I cannot do the grocery shops here because I merchandise them. That has been disclosed to the MS companies affected. I have to sit and grin because a couple of my local grocery stores are regularly shopped including competitive shops by three different MS companies in similar time frames.

That stinks! I love their grocery shops. We moved over the summer to Louisville from a tiny town in Indiana. We went from 4 shops a weekend to 10-12.

Is there someone in your family that could do the groceries? Or are they excluded because you do merchandising?
