There should be adequate seating - I was there with an entire 7th grade before, we ate near the pond and that is close to the playground(or am I thinking of Richmond Park?). I am getting my parks confused - some one in town has to set me straight I think.

Does anyone have any objection to John Ball Park?
Here's info on the zoo:

The zoo would be great. We have a yearly membership and haven't used it yet, so I know that would make my mom happy! lol

Sounds great! We'll be there. FYI Abe, Ash is bringing a friend.

So is the tally just: Abe, Shel, Penny and Shane?? Golly -- we are gonna parrrrty. Penny, you must get those brownies. Shop or not. You had me so hooked on those last year. Course I don't shop for them anymore, but the brownies are calling my name. lol

I just spoke with a lady at the zoo. She didn't feel we would need to reserve an area with such a small group. She thought we could snag a picnic table or two. I asked about grills. There are a few charcoal ones around but it's possible they will be in the reserved shelter areas. She said we could bring a grill but mine is way too big to bring.

If we think the group will be small and don't want to worry about the grill, she suggested the concession area that has great barbequed food, chicken strips and other stuff. She also said the area overlooking Monkey Garden is a very scenic area to sit. I'm just not sure if we'd be smelling monkey poo while eating.

If Penny is bringing brownies, I'm game for making a cheesy potato dish that is pretty dang good.

What are your ideas and opinions for the Big Day? Michelle

I have no idea where the park area is Theresa - anyone else??

It's been awhile since I've been to the zoo, but isn't the park outside of the zoo entrance?? If we eat at the concession area, or at the monkeys, then we will have to pay to get into the zoo. I was hoping to not take my kids in if I could. they may have other ideas.... but I am hoping anyway! LOL

There are picnic benches (I believe covered) to the right of the zoo entrance, near the parking lot. I would prefer not to eat near the animals, but without a grill...

You guys are planning a get-together and nobody invited me??! But seriously, that's what I get for not venturing out of the main MS forum more often. Can I still come?

If you know of ANY shopper, invite them. I'm not doing a good a job this year getting this organized. I haven't even talked with everyone to see about the food!
