Today we had white out conditions. It sleeted, and snowed off and on. At one point a squall came and dumped an inch of snow in under an hour and created a white out effect.

Currently 17 with light snow. Last evening was really clear to view the total lunar eclipse. This weekend we're supposedly having a heatwave of 32! Hope it starts melting some of this snow.

Foggy and about 30. Warm enough today I could go to the carwash and get some of the salt off my car. Now I can put clean salt back on.

Currently 23. Today it rained and did a good job at melting 50% of the snow. Lots of standing water on frozen ground. Tomorrow 50% chance of snow. Feels like this winter will never end. -

It started snowing yesterday morning and this morning we had about 3-4 inches on the ground. Then the sun came out and now you can barely even tell it snowed except in the shady spots. Todays high is going to be in the high 40's, tomorrow the high 50's or low 60's. what a rollercoaster!! But at least we got to have a snowball fight!!

OK, I win! (or lose!) Winter Storm Warning since yesterday, 16 inches of snow on the ground. Blowing and drifting snow, plus warnings, are keeping most people at home. My sister in Cincinnati said they closed the mall today and Cleveland CLOSED Hopkins International Airport because of the drifts. Bet you wish you were here!

For every school day off in winter, do you get each day extended at the end of the school year like they do here? (Always hated that as a kid)At this rate of bad weather, you'll be going 'til July.

Yes, we have to make up the days. In Ohio, we are required to be in school a minimum of 180 days. Our schedule is for 185 days. Some years we go more than 180 because we don't use all 5 calamity days. So far we are two days past our 5. The days are designated on the school calendar when it is approved. We have added two days now at the end of the year, so we will be going longer into June. When Spring Break is later, it might also shorten it, but since it is March this year I think they stayed away from it. Other schools have more days to make up than we do, as they have more country roads. I hate to go later into June. No air conditioning and the kids are nuts. |
