Joanna-

I am going... it is only a couple of hours drive for me, and I can't go Sat or Sun, so I am not getting a room.

Either way, I'll be Gold!

I'm in Santa Clara, and have been shopping this area (San Jose, Cupertino, Santa Clara, and a couple surrounding areas) for about a year now. I'm surprised to not have seen any posts from someone in the immediate San Jose area. Anyone?

Jason and Rhonda, thanks for the welcome back. Forgot to check back in on this board after I posted.

Robert, when hockey season starts back up again I'll be in the Bay area a lot...hoping to combine a few shops with games. (oh not NHL...my 12 y.o. son plays and Fresno teams travel to S.J., S.F., all over the Bay area and Sacramento area--Oct to April a couple times a month usually. So anyone knowing of any open hotel jobs during that time frame and can't do them feel free to let me know! Expensive sport but worth it as this year they won the Norcal Championship AND California State Championships. Sorry....I digress.)

Anyway, since I have family and friends up there also I have thought about taking a combo of jobs if available just to go visit too.

Hi RobertSJC,

I live in Morgan Hill and have done MS in San Jose and Campbell so far.

Seems to me, there is not that much work in this area.

Or am I missing something?

You need to sign up with a ton of companies to get regular work. It seems most companies have large clients and once you shopped them , you have to move to the next city or find another company that doesn't another store in your area.

Hi Robert and Dano! I shop the peninsula down to San Jose. I'm only registered with about 40 companies, but I'm turning away work so it is out there.

Good luck!

I am still wondering if there are any shoppers out there around the Sacramento area. I travel to San Francisco also a couple of times a month.

I do the East Bay and SF, but when I start to drive, I will probably need to add Solano and Yuba County and maybe up to Sac.

I'm leaving the Scaramento area this month... off to shop the east bay, but I've cut back to almost nothing since March when my baby was born, so I don't think it will make an impact one either market for you guys :)

I live near Anaheim, but I'm not going. Maybe some other time when I'm free.
Can anyone recommend a good mystery shop company to work for that does retail/purchase and lets you keep the stuff you buy?

Currently I'm doing restaurants and I just wanted to broaden my horizen.

Hi Andrea,

I'm not registered with that many, but since my last post I have received several in my area, completed some and left some.

I plan to register with more in the future.

Hi Mary Smith from Fresno. I shop Merced south to Fresno and north to Modesto. Good to see some Central Cal people on here.

Happy Shopping.

Hi all you Californians!
Our geography is so vast that I love hearing about all the wonderful cities everyone shops in.
Does anyone else think we should divide California on this forum into Northern and Southern people?
This should start a debate!

I am in the northern part of California. Don't know if that makes a difference but there sure seems to be a lot of shoppers in and around the Sacramento area.

I don't think this thread gets enough traffic to do that.

Hi Mary in Fresno. Most of my work now is taking me south of Fresno, more into Visalia, Selma, Hanford. I'm also doing more merchandising right now than shopping.

Starting to get darn hot out here though!

I shop in metro L.A., Beverly Hills, West L.A., Culver City, Santa Monica and Hollywood. I just started in June, but I did thirteen shops in my first month--so far, so good. See you in Anaheim!

I just moved to the "High Desert" I lived in south Georgia for 12 years. I am a Seattle native. I have been shopping for over 2 years. I have had good success in finding shops the last week. It is so dry up here. Why don't people around here grow grass! I haven't gotten my first waterbill!!!
