Kam,
I have not got paid for two out of three shops which were completed in the first five days of November. I have no doubt it will come...it always does.

Can anyone tell me how pay has been with Informa in the last three months. Looks like people were upset in December and then nothing more. I have a few shops in my area I would like to try but I always like to get paid for work that I perform.

Thanks

Cassy

Cassy, while I won't personally guarantee your payment , mine is a short list of companies that I trust implicitly. Informa is one of them. I don't know what may be the issues causing a couple others to be missing payments, but I'm certain if they wrote Donna (for example), she would see to a speedy resolution.

So if you have shops from Informa in your area, I recommend you grab them. No need to worry about getting paid from this company. In fact, I just received a check Monday (3/22) for ALL shops performed the first week of March. I think that kind of turnaround time says it all.

Good luck.

Jeff

I agree 100% with JeffInIL, you do not have to worry about not getting paid by Informa. I have completed over 100+ jobs for them and received payment from every one.

One of my all time favorite companies. Fair pay, responsive schedulers, and fast turn around for payroll.

Hi all,
Can anyone tell me how soon after a shop Informa usually wants the report? I can't seem to find that information anywhere in the guidelines, but I am really tired. Thx!

It depends on the client/program they're doing. I find that with the shops that do not involve shipping materials to them, if it is not turned in before midnight of the shop date, an automatic message is sent saying it has not been entered yet.

But that may not be the case for all shops.

Over the past few months I have been having issues selecting shops with this company - especially when it comes to the blue bank shops. Has any one else been having difficulties scheduling shops?

It used to be that you could do 6 per month and there was preassignment. You could email the scheduler and request specific big Blue Banks, but now it seems that you can only assign 4 and the preassignment is no longer available and the email notification that they have been posted comes a full 24 hours after they are up. I have also noticed that I don't see all the locations available in my usual shopping area.

With blue banks in my area, we are allowed to do 5 per month. Years ago when this project started every single location used to be listed on the job board. It is not the case today. Like you said you only see the shops in your immediate area and then have to wait to receive the list from the scheduler to get other locations.

I find this process ridiculous. By the time that list is sent out it is already outdated because people are also taking shops from the job board. I should not have to send 5 emails to scheudler to see which shops are available. That is what the job board is for. If a big MSC can not post all jobs on their site so shoppers can look to see what is available when they will be in a certain location, it makes me rethink staying with this company.

Be sure to check for shops outside your area. Click on your state (or nearby states if you're living in a border area) and then look for cities of interest.

With some companies on the Prophet system, that's the only way to find shops. It was not as much with Informa, but is seems to be now.

Informa is one that I am going to put on my ten foot pole list. Did a shop in Sept and was informed I would not be paid for it when I did follow all directions and did contact Donna when I encountered a problem. Hopefully I get a call back as I talked to Tonya who told me I was not to be paid and she said Donna would have to contact me. Will follow up with the outcome. And I have noticed I have not been getting the slew of emails about the same shop that I had been getting...

Update got an email saying I should have been paid so I have faith again :D

Has anyone else received a letter from Informa stating that their 1099 which was sent out was sent out by mistake. I received a letter which stated I should not have received a 1099 but I was given one and to disregard it. I made over the 600 so a 1099 should have been generated. My problem is the one which I was given was, according to my records, about 700 too high.
Is anyone else having issues?
When I email them and call I receive the letter again stating I should not have received a 1099.

I called their A/P today and left a message. The 1099 I rec'd was also too high and I did not make (according to my records) over $600, so I shouldn't have rec'd one. I did not get a letter yet that it was an error. I'll wait to hear from them. I don't want to be paying taxes on $$ I didn't earn..LOL.

Thanks for bringing the topic up because when I opened the 1099 I was surprised that I had made that much from them and just filed it with my tax stuff and didn't give another thought until I read your post. Low and behold, it was wrong. I only made about half of what was on the 1099. I suggest everyone check their totals against the 1099's sent from them, as they seem to be messed up.

I made less than 25% of what the 1099 form purports that I made. The letter that came with it says that I have until February 18th to dispute the amount, and after that, they will send the information to the IRS. I should not have received a 1099 form from them at all. Maybe the amount reported is the amount the client paid them to have me do the assignment? In which case they made a hefty profit.

I received an email back with a spread sheet attached to it. On the spreadsheet, it states that I completed 4 jobs for them. It is totally wrong, I have completed about 4 a month. Received a 1099 stating I made over 2400 which is WAYYYYYYYYYYYYY wrong, it should have been about 1400 according to my records. Now what do I do? I thought my 1099 was too high last year as well, but I filed it as stated thinking I may have missed something. This year, I know I did not miss 1000 worth of jobs.
I am beside myself.
I am going to have to write them again and see what they say.

The weird thing is their spreadsheet stated I made under $75 dollars if I added up the amounts they supplied. My 1099 stated 2400, it should be about 1400. So what do I do? Wrote back again. They do not seem to return calls either. If you want to get a hold of them email is better.

They sent an email saying many people got incorrect 1099s. About a week later they sent an apologetic letter (by snail mail) saying the 1099 I received was wrong and to ignore it.

I really like Informa but their accounting department is either very unorganized or is having major issues. They are just not responding to my issue, I guess it does not hurt them. They are not the ones who have to file their taxes.
UGH.............
