Erin,
The IRS is well accustomed to the problem of people having incorrect 1099s. When you file, write a note on the Schedule C stating that your gross differes by the amount of an incorrect 1099 from [name].

Are the counting reimbursements when you are only counting straight pay / shop fees? Just wondering how $75 could turn into $1400 or more.

I was curious how quickly Informa typically pays.

I did my first shop for them in March and didn't know when I should be looking for payment. Additionally how do they pay?

Thank you!

I rec'd a check on 3/14 for the shop done in Jan. That's been my only experience with this company, so I don't know if that is typical or not.

I have had really good luck with Informa's payment schedule. If I do a shop early in the month, I usually (not always) get payment during the 4th week of the month. I did a shop on April 2nd for them and got my check in the mail today. I've never waited more than 30 days for them to pay me. I've been shopping for them steadily for over a year now.

Their pay schedule is a tad strange but they do ALWAYS pay, but be sure you get any promised bonuses in your check. Sometimes, the scheduler fails to make a note of any bonuses, so payroll may be unaware.

Hi there,

Can anyone give me a current status on working with this company. I received an invite which usually means they have a job in this area and need a shopper for just that job. The pay offered is nice, but I don't want to apply if they don't pay in a timely manner or there are communication problems.

Thanks!

They pay quickly. My average for all shops that I have completed is 28 days to receive the check. Never had a problem with payments.

Friendly, responsive schedulers who don't hold mistakes against you, simple, informative training, fair pay, reports are straightforward and not repetitive. I have always been paid what was offered in a timely manner. Bonuses are usually paid separately so it can be a bit of a challenge to keep track of when they are actually paid from a record-keeping standpoint. This is one of my favorite companies.

Ms Baker.

This is one of my best companies to work with. The pay is good to excellent for many of the assignments, they provide video training for new projects and they are responsive when you have questions. I have not had a problem with pay.

I second all that, especially the fair pay and FAST pay. Great and helpful schedulers too.

I did 2 bank shops for them towards the end of April for $65 each and still have not been paid :( These are the only April shops I am still waiting on payment for. I am very disappointed in this company.

Have you contacted them? In my experience they are really responsive. I would recommend e-mailing your scheduler to find out what has happened and it should be cleared up very quickly. Any issue that I have had ha been handled promptly and with an apology if the issue was on their end. I have done 100's of shops for them and have had only 1 issue which was cleared up within 48 hours. They accept phone or e-mail with no issues, although since they are in CA and I am in MI it is usually easier to send an e-mail in the evening on my end and it is addressed when they arrive in the office the next day. Communication is prompt and professional.

I have not. I was going to give it another 2 weeks (till the end of the month) and I was surprised when I received my check in the mail today. It was a large amount (for me anyway LOL) So I was worried. There were bonuses attached to both shops, and it looks like the bonuses were posted on May 1st (even though I shopped in April) which could explain why they took so long to pay me.

I've liked working for Informa in the past, but now I'm wondering. I got offered a shop offering $20 bonus in addition to the usual shop fee and a list of locations. When assigned the shops (there were two), I was only offered $20 on the two in total (effectively $10 bonus each), not $20 bonus each like the email read. When I point out this issue to the scheduler, she says that she can only pay one bonus per trip, even though I would pay $26.50 in public transit fares to get these done and these are locations are a 20 minute walk (about 1 mile) apart (not like the 4 minute drive is doable thanks to difficult parking in the city and difficult traffic to get there in the first place); with paying another $2 for public transit saving you a few minutes at best due to the setup.
