$3.05 or thereabouts in most areas, $2.97 at Costco.

Totally ridiculous.

It has been holding steady at $3.24 a gallon. I'm going to cry more when it goes up. I drive 35 miles (45 min) each way to work everyday.

Thankfully I have a Prius that gets 50 MPG and school will be out soon - although not soon enough. We are going until June 13 this year!!!!!!

$2.79 in some places & $2.83 in others but seems to be holding steady for the last week or so, & oddly Exxon is the cheapest in the area, at $2.79.

Anyone else been getting them emails on May 15th as the day to buy no gas? Half the time I wonder will it really make a difference and do enough people go YES I WILL DO THIS, no matter if I am running on Empty and have to go do this and that. Just curious if others had got it and if so if going to not buy any that day.

May 15th? Randi, you have my support. No fuel purchase on May 15th for the Fowler household.

The May 15 holdout won't work because everyone fills up on the 14th or the 16th. So what does that accomplish? I would like someone to come up with something to really work at bringing down the cost. Mr. President??????

All we need are a couple of bad storms in FL, and price gougers will have the rate at $4+++++ !

Bummer!

I remember this happening once before and it did have an impact. Any time a large enough Americans stick together and do something, it always has an impact.

I recall something about people refusing to ride busses due to being treated unfairly, being extremely effective.

No, not everyone will load up before. I will purchase only what I need and then on the 15th, I will purchase none!

This does need to get out to a large number of people though, so if you can post the information for us to send to friends and family, I would be glad to so.

I also think we need to send it to our congress people, state officials and radio stations. I have a local station I can send it to.

I don't want to flood this up if not wanted, but if you want me to post the email I got here on it, let me know and I will.

I may be wrong, but last time this happened, gas decreased by 20 plus some cents in a matter of weeks. Someone, correct me if I am wrong.

Driving around today near my MIL house and she is close to the border of Chicago (where it is even worse) Highest price I saw was $3.69 for regular unleaded at a non-premium gas station. OMG because it did go up today. We saw several at $3.39 and higher.

I personally don't think the May 15th boycott would work unless people USED less gas on that day by carpooling, riding their bike, taking public transportation.....

I saw $2.79 yesterday and flew in to that station to fill up. Most in my area are $2.85 and up.
