Went to run a few errands today. On the way, here is what I saw. 1st gas station $3.31, 2nd $3.29 (stopping there on the way home for gas if I don't see any cheaper),3rd station was in the process of changing prices (don't know from what to what), last gas station was $3.36. Okay, definitely stopping at the 2nd station & get gas when I am through with errands. 3 hrs. later I pass the 2nd station on the way back home & it has changed from $3.29 to $3.35 (That is BS) Unfranchised station across the street is still $3.29. I think we are getting ripped off.

I paid $3.35 before I left for my route this morning. My son called me about an hour later and said they had just raised it to $3.45. Stopped in the last town before we got home and paid $3.39. It went up .10 just today.

Sure how many do you want.
When you see it like that, makes it hard to believe the price of gas.

Who can afford premium. I wonder if anybody still buys it? I never did. My husband used to mix regular & the next price up many years ago. Someone gave him the idea. I never did that either. I've always bought the cheapest.

By the way, some cars demand only premium. Glad mine doesn't. My son's car does and he fills once with premium and the next with regular as the salesman told him it was okay. Costly.

Here reg. is running between $3.49-3.69.

Heart-breaking.

It's not going to end. Look for $4.00+ gas in summer.

On the radio this AM, they said we will be at $4.00 per gallon by Memorial Day. The news guy was quoting some reputable agency...but I was too busy drinking a $4.00 non-shop Honey Latte to pay too much attention...

My husband had a car that could only take premium. If he didn't he would have engine run-on. It was affordable then. Thank goodness he sold it about 10 years ago.

There are various new vehicles that require the higher octane that Premium gas offers. If a person uses regular gas in one of these cars/trucks/SUV's it can cause major damage to the engines over time. One thing Ive heard some do, is to use regular 87 octane gas and use an octane additive to boost the octane level up to the premium level in order to cut costs. Also, my son who works on engines, says that a "chip" can be added to most vehicles to increase gas mileage and various performance issues related to consumption. Im thinking a good ole bicycle is going to be the next mode of travel for some of us--this is totally ridiculous having to pay these prices.

Not too long ago, while I was sitting in line to get gas, the price of gas went up 10 cents a gallon.

On the news today they were showing gas prices for both North and South Carolina. SC is on average 10 cents cheaper than NC. (They were only giving an average for both states).

$3.35 is the average here now. For those who require the premium grade, can you do the half & half thing like my husband used to do? I didn't think any vehicles still required premium but I remember when they did. Shows how much of a dinosaur I am.
