The best part of this thread is that it is a history of gas rates if you look back at the first post:

Posted - 07/06/2005 : 5:09:42 PM
The cheapest in my area ranged was $ 2.07 which I saw yesterday at a Wawa station to $ 2.17 for a high. Last week we were in MA and paid $ 2.31 a gallon which makes getting gas here feel like a bargain.

Now we well know people are at higher rates now but shop rates don't reflect the increased costs to shoppers. I paid $3.77 again with my grocery store ten cent per gallon discount. Otherwise, I would have had to pay $3.87. How could I afford to run around on the same shops as I did back then? I can't.

It's on the rise again here. The station we usually fill up at just went to $4.38. I would love to see something below $4.00. It's been so long!

It went up here today as well. Most stations are $4.5 for regular and $4.19 for mid-grade. Due to a merchandising assignment (actually helping out my manager and getting paid mileage round trip). I was in an area off any main highway and they had several stations that had not yet raised their prices so I filled up there before heading home. I still had over 3/4 of a tank of gas. However, I did find out exactly how much my car gets for mileage. It gets just under $26 miles per gallon and this is very little highway driving. Mostly back roads and city driving. Oh, the stations where I was at were still at $3.91 for regular and $4.01 for mid grade.

Our govt needs to do something as if gas gets much higher I don't think anyone will be able to afford to go to work.

Gas prices here in my area are at $4.08-$4.09 a gallon. It's about to the point to where you can't afford to go to work.

Gas actually went down this weekend I passed a station on my way to a family cookout & it was the usual $3.99 for this area. Less than 1/4 mile down the road a Royal Farms had it for $3.89. I'm thinking this has to be a mistake, I better gas up before they realize it. Then when I got to where I was going about another 5 miles, all the stations were $3.89. On the way home I saw a few cars at the $3.99 station & I wanted to pull in & tell them to go another 1,000 ft down the road for 10 cents cheaper gas.

About 4 days ago gas was $4.09 for low grade. Today we paid $3.89. Of course, when we got closer to Indianapolis it was $3.77 at one station. I'm just glad to see it back down under $4.

I am currently in Tennesee and gas is $3.79. Wish I could buy some and take it home with me. In SF Bay Area, gas dropped to $4.33. I'm also enjoying seeing all the green--green grass, lots of green trees.

When I left this morning I paid $3.78. I went 50 miles down the road and it was $3.51. Love to see it going down. It never did get to over $4.00 here.

Amy, it was $4.19 here yesterday. Maybe it will be below $4.00 by the time you come home.
