1.799 here but its about to go up tomorrow, I was told. Heard on the radio that the prices will rise to about $3 gallon again, and then remain at that.

I find that hard to believe based on the current price of crude oil.
Paid 1.55 today.

Here is a link to a fairly short article about why gasoline prices are rising. http://finance.yahoo.com/family-home/article/106398/As-Prices-Rise,-Some-See-$2-Gas

I paid $1.49 yesterday, found it today for $1.55 but a lot of stations are now anywhere from $1.61 - $1.69 including the one that was $1.49 last week. 20 cents raise in just a few days. Looks like they are getting ready to gouge us again. What made it drop so drastically & why is it going back up. Did it drop because we stopped using so much & is now going up because we have relaxed our limits? (Although I haven't)

It's going up again because OPEC has drastically cut production. (You know the price for a barrel of oil which effects the price at the pump.)

Gas here took a 10 cent jump yesterday! 1.899 now and going to jump again. Our state is going to implement a higher gas tax to cover the loss in revenue, due to us not driving as much and not using as much fuel. Per gallon, another 24-25 cent! It really sux when you try to be thrifty, and then get shafted for doing so. Kind of damned if you do,and damned if you dont. We just cant win, can we??

I don't actually know what I'm paying. Because ever since it got cold my husband has taken my car out at night and filled it out. He has this thing about it always been full - so the gas doesn't freeze up or whatever. I don't argue about it, that's for sure. LOL!
