We must be talking about a different reveal shop. The one I was referring to us the standard gas station reveal audit which has been ongoing for some time across the country.

I haven't seen this addressed but if it has I offer my apologies for not being observant.

When selecting the "new" gas station shops, is there any method to see the required shopping hours before agreeing to the shop?

I chose some in the same area hoping to do them all in one trip and it wasn't until they were assigned that I saw the times for the visit. Some just don't fit and I don't like canceling but going out at night for just one location several miles away isn't profitable.

I made the same mistake and had to cancel two shops. Maritz was very nice and understanding about it. On the available shops page the times are listed. Right before you click "get shops." I found out the hard way after doing a shop in the morning only to have it rejected when I tried to enter the results. Fortunately this shop was only 3/4 of a mile from my house so I just ran out and did it again. I checked the rest of my shops and had to cancel the two.

When you select the date range, there's a time, to the right of the dates.

It's not the time frmae that the other poster was refering to. I spoke to someone at Maritz and they acknoowledge that there is no way to see the time frame before signing up for the shop. And worse yet, for the new audits at the same locations, you won't know until you get the paper work in the mail. My scheduler suggested that I call before self assigning these so that I know the time of day of the shopping window.

So the time "10pm" next to the date range is NOT the time for the shop? Oops! So what is the 10pm?

No, it's not. The shops have a time range, such as 6 AM to 10 AM, 2 PM to 6 PM, etc. The range is only visible on the evaluation form that can only be printed after you sign up for the shop. If there was any other way besides calling the scheduler before assigning the shop, I think the very experienced and good scheduler I have would have told me. It would have saved her a lot of time on the phone. I don't know exactly what the 10 PM is that you are referring to.

Has anyone had this happen? I self-assigned a shop for this company and had all last week to do it. I shopped it on Wednesday and when I went to report it that night, it was not on my current shops. I then read an email from the company that they sent in the afternoon that said the shop was mistakenly assigned and not to do it. Should a company wait till mid-week of the schedule and email me----not even a quick phone call???? I immediately emailed back and attempted to call the next couple days with no answer--- so I just left messages. I haven't heard a word yet. Is this fair?

Nope, not fair at all. You need to talk to someone because they don't usually do things like that. I have noticed emails don't get answered and half the time neither do the phone messages. I would keep calling until I got someone because they should at least pay you for your purchase. Things have been a mess since they changed systems but it is slowly getting better. Personally I find this is one of the nicest companies to work for.

Ron,
I think they may have update their site. If you click "find new jobs" you will be on the "available shops list." on that page for each job is a line (example) Time of Day/Day of Week Requirements:Sun-Mon-Tue-Wed-Thu-Fri-Sat 6:00 AM - 10:00 PM. The time listed for the job is identical to what is printed out on the evaluation form. Once you accept the job this is no longer available and then you must print out the evaluation form to see the correct time frame.

Thank you Larry. I was wondering why no one saw the time, next to the date, besides me.

Maritz still has bugs to work out on their new site. Several times schedulers have told me certain things should be visible to me on the site, like shipping job openings, time and pay info, but it just isn't there on my screen. Schedulers have opened my page with my ID and password, and confirmed they couldn't see some things either (good to know I'm not THAT blind!!).

Possibly the times you are speaking of are not visible to other shoppers....?

I still don't see a time, I see a time range. It does appear that the site has been updated as Larry states. Maybe feedback from the shoppers has helped in getting it changed. It also appears that they have added the time frames for the Image Evaluations also. There is a time listed next to the earliest shopping date if that's the time you are referring to, TinaMarie. The time frames are now listed next to the days of the week that the shop can be done, not the dates.

Diane, I also had shops assigned to me for last week. I had planned to do them on Saturday AM. I got the email around Wednesday, saying shops had been removed from my list and I should not shop them. As I said, I had not planned to shop until Saturday, so I was alright (other than being out some planned $$$) - but yes, I would be pretty upset if that happened to me. I know others will say that you should always check the site before doing your shops, but I know not everyone has access to email all day long, especially when planning a day or route of shopping. It's unfortunate. I hope you can get it resolved; Maritz is usually pretty good but I definitely say you should make a phone call rather than an email. They are very helpful on the phone. Good luck.

Diane,
I agree with Corrie... CALL THEM!

MS'ing requires daily email access. If you checked your email that morning and had no message canceling the shop, then you did the shop in good faith, and (if you ask politely) you should be paid for it.

Some email services (Yahoo, AOL, etc) take forever to process mail. Wifey uses Yahoo, and sometimes messages I've sent her have taken 36+ hours to arrive to her!

I had a shop cancelled for them last week. I noticed it when I logged in earlier in the day to double check my shops for the day. I then got a call later from someone at Maritz asking first if I had already completed the shop and then telling me it was cancelled once I confirmed I hadn't yet done it. I'm sure they'll make it right. I did two yesterday- one was closed, even though it was open a few weeks earlier (I called the location ahead of time but no answer so I had no choice but to proceed as scheduled). The second one had no gas!!

When I got home this afternoon, I had a phone message saying that the company will be paying me for the shop. They are going to put it back on my current list and let me report it.....it works for me...thanks for all the input.

In case you didn't get the e-mail, the gas shops with the $8 gas reimbursement are on hold for everyone until further notice.

The e-mail said changes are being made. Probably concerning the reimbursement for the gas purchase, which I' sure will be changed.

If the lower the reimbursement, I might have to decline the 13 shops I have now.

Lesson learned. When you set off to do gas shops in which you can be reimbursed for 12 gallons of gas, be sure to do it in a vehicle whose 15 gallon tank was not topped off two days earlier.
