Any current feedback on this company? I just applied with them as it looks like they'll have openings in my area.

I'm also curious about the pay...I asked for about the average pay I get in this area...(I have four years of experience).

I think they are a great company to work for. I have not had any problems with them. They pay on time and communication is just an email or phone call away. I would recommend them to anyone.

I agree with Sheila. I recommend this company to anyone. I've worked for this company since 2004. I love working in the Targets and getting the other jobs Albertsons, etc. Easy to work with. Just a phone call away. HIGHLY recommend.

I'm currently doing one WM in San Antonio. It's one of the easiest services, hands down: one hour call, once a week; blow up balloons & put them out. Maybe once a month you'll be asked to do an inventory, which involves simply counting how many of which styles & marking it on a sheet to enter online.

Has anyone heard about when Anagram will decide their 'test run' is up? To change subject, has anyone heard why GDF & Portal are pulling out of Target???

Does anyone do service calls for glasses with LMSVC? They are "interesting" to deal with!

I was looking for feedback from people that do the service calls for glasses. I do work for LMSVC and have serviced glasses for 2 years but I just wanted to get feedback about the job.

I have had some questions on my mind for some time now, and I just need to vent, too. Is it just me, or does it seem like every other hour now there are changes to instructions and dates on jobs? And now, with all the company takeovers, my head is absolutely spinning! That combined with all the constant turnover at the big bullseye stores. I was happy for the most part with the company for a while, but now I'm starting to sway away. So, I wonder things like this while on the job. When you report your time spent on the job, do you report the actual time, down to the minutes? Round it up? Someone told me to always put the full amount regardless 'to make sure you get paid' (?!) If you are allotted, for example, seven hours, do you take a break during that time, or include driving time? If you are told 'expect all day service', with the upcoming CP card resets, what does that mean? If you get done early, do you still get paid for all day? Does anyone else have problems with the price change team demolishing their displays when they go thru each week? And, I'm also dying to know, does anyone think that there are mystery shoppers assigned to check on the jewelry dept, and their 'assigned question is 'Do you carry jewelry cleaner?' I've had a regular rotation of customers ask me this, even when they are standing right near it?! And, is anyone else going nuts with the earring panel, the one where there are like 100 pegs each of different earrings? I'm embarrassed how much time I spent setting this panel, having to look up each one, one by one?! Why can't the plans at least be in somewhat numerical order? I am also wondering why so many of the bags are now the kind you have to sit there and get just the right spot to unseal them? And, finally, please someone tell me how to handle the wonderful employees at stores like the big M that look at you like you are speaking a foreign language when trying to locate stock or get a question answered? I've had teeth pulled easier than dealing with some of those stores employees!? What about stores that are mandatory, well, I guess all of them are mandatory. But, don't you think we sohould be able to have SOME say in our routes? With the rising gas prices, I am going broke working?! Ok, let me take a breath. But, please let me know if any of you have experienced the same things?

LMS pays by the project, not by the hour. For jewelry, I generally report the full amount of time the store is scheduled. However, sometimes I report less, due to lack of enough jewelry to keep me in the store. Sometimes I report more time than projected-usually during panel resets. I look at the job as a long term job. Some days, I am in less time than expected, sometimes more. However, it all balances out in the end. I am still paid the full project rate, regardless of what I report. For jobs other than jewelry, sometimes I needed to call them to authorize overtime (for which I was paid.) Regarding the extra jobs-yes I wish there was better give and take. They have some jobs that I don't want/can't do, for a variety of reasons-but I have to do them, in order to keep my jewelry jobs-which I LOVE.
I don't stress the schematics. I always set the new panels exactly to plan. As they sell down, if I am given enough replenishment to reset to plan, I do. Once the replenishment can't keep up with the sales/holes and I pull pegs-then I just maintain the panel but don't necessarily follow schematic. Earrings was set once by me, initially and once more this past week, with the refresh. I probably won't worry about it, going forward since I never have enough of the product to set it properly.
Once items go clearance, or a panel goes clearance, I don't look at the schematic for that panel again.

I usually don’t worry about the time. I love the “pay per project” concept because I don’t have to worry about the time. However, when I helped with a new store setup we were paid for the actual time there minus an unpaid lunch (which Lawrence bought), not the full day I expected. I was able to hit a couple of my sunglass stores as they were on the way home, so it still was a full day.

Did I miss something? What company takeovers? I know they just did a region shuffle so some areas got different coordinators. They’ve done that before. When you complained about the route, remember, most coordinators do not know your state. If one of the little jobs is not in a good location for you, mention it. Hopefully, they have someone else closer. They will work with you. Usually they use your home as the guide, not the Target you service. I actually had a sunglass service across the highway from someone else’s Target. What I don’t like is that they schedule the extras for only 3 days and all for the same week whether they’re monthly weekly or EOW. They need to start scheduling a little more flexibility to allow us to minimize driving.

I’m crazy, I really like the earring panel. Earrings are grouped by style. After the first set, just remember that & try to keep it pretty. As items sold off the first time I just slowly moved things up.

Buy some surgical gloves. My hands got so dried & cracked one Christmas from the plastic bags someone gave me gloves to protect them. Turns out the gloves stick to the plastic a bit & makes them easier to open. You only need one on your opening hand. I try to remember to leave some under the panel & use them when I have a lot to open. You’re not doing surgery so you can reuse them.

Sometimes the price change team makes a mess, sometimes they don’t. It depends on who’s doing it that day. Try to be there on a Friday when they are working. They love to be told what panel is going clearance. Their gun gives them the name of the panel but its highly abbreviated. If they get everything they need to with the one panel they won’t need to check all of them. Become “buddies” & they won’t make such a mess.

I hope some of this helps.

Hi-I think you gave GREAT advice!

My question is, if you report 20 minutes on a 30 min job, are you paid for 20 or 30 minutes?

THANKS!

Does anyone do any merchandising at Wholefood's.
Does anyone know what is going on with the new ordering system at WF's? I was told that some rep's are no longer servicing WF stores due to the new ordering system. What is going on? So we are losing our jobs due to the new system at Wholefood stores?

Hi everyone

Well this is the last week for the WholeFoods book's job. I got less than one week's notice that it was ending across the board. They did know about this but choose not to give notice. I know it is OK to do that but it just doesnt seem right. I am hoping that we can get back in even with the new system.
I dont know if I should quit or just stay on and do the little work I have left. I have been with them and quite busy at times since 04 and that is a long time. Oh well. All things come to an end.
As far as a company they do pay on time but as far as communication and actuall liking the company it all depends on the manager you have at the given time. I have had a few wonderful woman bosses and had one really mean one who got promoted and refused me a raise due to a lie from a jewelry specialist at Target and would not call the actually dept manager at Target who was going to set the record straight and would not allow my supervisor to contact Target again to see what was going on. That was weird. So it all depends on your boss and her boss. I really like the woman who headed up the WF project was once my supervisor, she has always been very nice. I once asked for a bonus to drive 31 miles and was told they can get someone else to do it. That is the type of answers you get. I am mad, yes I am. One week notice and no gas money for going over the 15 round trip rule. That is corporate america. This is my story.

Hi!

I have a question about pay with Lawrence. Does anyone know what an approximate hourly rate would turn out to be? The job posting that I saw said, "7 HOURS on a TWICE PER WEEK basis for a project rate of 35 DOLLARS per visit." That cannot possibly mean $35 for 7 hours of work, does it? Is it more like $35 for 3.5 hours of work? I don't want to waste their time with a reply if the rate is not something that I can work with. Any other feedback would be welcome. They look like a decent company to work for. Thank you!

Mel D-
Lawrence project pay works out to be $10.00 an hour. The visits you are talking about are probably 7 hours total for the week to be divided between 2 visits. So it would work out to be each visit is 3.5 hours and pays $35.

On a side note, Lawrence is my lowest paying company and I have been with them the longest. Right after my one year anniversary, I asked my coordinator about a raise, and she gave me some story about how they are re-evaluating a lot of the projects, considering the rising gas prices, and getting ready to launch a new website. That was 6 months ago. If i haven't received an increase by my 2nd anniversary, I may seriously consider dropping them. One company I am with gave me a $1/hr. raise after I'd been with them less than a year, and I didn't even have to ask for it.

Ask again for the raise, I just got one. Its not alot & only for the normal Target visits. Its not for cards or the extra visit if you have a busy store.

Since Lawrence pays per project I figure my "raise" is that I'm more efficient at the job , therefore get done quicker & my hourly rate is better.

Has anyone here worked on the reticketing project for D. 27? How long did it take you? Why can't Target handle the jewelry in the cases? How about the upcoming C.P./H.L resets? When they say expect all day, what does that mean you are paid?

Concerning the raises, why doesn't it include all the projects? At any other job, one wouldn't get a partial raise. This company just seems to be asking for more and more, and aren't accomodating those requests with any extra pay or benefits?!
