Yes. They are no longer doing Rite Aids. The grocery store is a local chain in this area.

The local chain of grocery stores is in New York and Vermont. It is not a national chain of stores.... it is independently owned....not like Hannaford, Shaw's, Kroeger, Wegmann etc. I can ask her for you but I know these stores are not on the west coast.

I do not see my name on the dropdown list so I cannot submit my report to get paid. Don't I have to get a confirmation # to report my time on the website? I have asked my DM but she is not available.

You report what ever surveys or inventories that the job requires first. Like in RA, we actually have to type in our names for the inventories. There is no drop down box. Then when you want to report your time, you click on report time and then there is a drop down box for your name and you click on it and you fill out that form and it's questions and the time question should be included in there. Then you hit finish get a confirmation number and it gives you one. I don't know what jobs you are doing though. Your pre paid cards maybe? Have you emailed her?

I heard from my Dm and filled out 2 surveys now and do not get a confirmation #. Too funny. I can call her Tuesday. Thanks just the same.

After you fill out whatever surveys they want you should see at the top on the right side, report time. You click on that and it gives you the final form to fill out (and that has the drop down box on the left and your name should be in there hopefully) which will have you also report your time. When you finish that, you then go to the top and hit finished reporting get confirmation number.

I've started servicing my grocery stores again...I asked my DM and she said it would be OK, because I told her that I've got to or I'm losing money!! Bad enough half of them are now every 6 weeks and half every month! Two months of no service doesn't pay the bills!! So I did some stores last week and doing the rest of them during the rest of this month. I fear that whoever is running this ship is going to run it into the ground!! Which makes me sad, because I've been with them since 2007, and they pay well and on time. We'll just see!!

Big Sue,

I did have a frank talk with my DM about 4 weeks ago, asking her what was going on. What she told me was that NMR had a "huge order" for a client "other than" the grocery chain I service in my area, and that NMR only wanted to concentrate on that for these past weeks. So I told my DM that what would happen is that when we DID start up our service again, NMR would be FLOODED with returns, because after not going in for 8 weeks or so, you can imagine the new product that has come in, with no one to straighten up and/or clear out older product for return. I told her that I felt whoever was running this show up in New Jersey was going to sink it!!! My DM is a fine, fine person, and she listened to me, and said she understood my frustration.

So, I emailed her about 10 days ago and said I had the time these last 2 weeks of July to service my stores, and that I felt I HAD to get them done!! Some of them haven't been serviced since the end of April/1st of May, for Pete's sake!! She said I could, so here I am!! I've got 9 done with another 8 to go!!

But I don't have a food feeling about this either...I'm fearful that NMR is going out of business. I don't know what there business plan is, but when a company keeps sending the same DVDs back to the stores over and over again in amounts TOO LARGE for the stores to handle, and they DON'T SELL, then something's not going right!! We'll see how the next chapter reads!!

Big Sue,

I couldn't have expressed it any better! I feel the same way about ALL the points you brought out!! It never did occur to me to "bump up" my inventory to see if it would curb the flood of product....but I guess from what you have said, it wouldn't have made any difference! Well, I agree with you....maybe time to start looking for a replacement company....I HOPE not, but what else are we to think??? You are right, they have NOT been forthcoming with us. And as far as them asking us not to do any returns....well, DUH!!....if they didn't oversend the product to begin with, I don't think we'd have that problem!!! That's one of the points I have told me DM MANY times....and I also told her that I do believe it's going to catch up to them one day. Maybe it has. (I DO like my DM....she is a very sweet person...but she's not the one who makes the Corporate decisions!!)

I was with NMR for nearly 8 years, but had to give it up, In March, when I got a "real" retail job. I even hung on to it when I had an 8-5 Mon-Fri job with Borders. Checked with each Weis and RA manager that they were cool with monthly Sat visits. It was some nice extra money and I LOVED my dm (shout out to Jackie) and really liked the work. First we lost Giant/Martins of Carlisle. Losing the umbrella gig at Weis after only 6 months, then losing the gift card end cap at RA. Then the reading glasses. CDs and DVDs are a losing trade, Red Box is a monster Biz, from what I can see. NMR is just in for the long haul on a dying franchise. Heck, you can upload anything we see on Hulu for free. I just think that they missed the boat on expanding into other areas. Very sad because the people I met along the way with this company deserve better.
I stuck it out thru 4 evolutions of my employment profile, from when it was my second job, and then a nice add on to my main job (because it was on my way home) to my tack on during one Sat a month, to "oh lord I have to drive to another state for a 45 minute job" time. I gave that 4 months to clear up. The sales team is the problem, they needed to sell us as the crew who knew the stores,k new the customers, knew the managers, a crew of people who were in for the long haul. So sad.

Back tracked thru the history of posts...did not realize that I had been hired at the inception, but I do know that "Jackie" had gotten my name from a former DM at Spar. All was so bright and sunny at the start of this endeavor and it all went so south at the decline of DVDs. No wonder that my DM did not beg me to stay with more money...never asked or got a raise. Really 8 years? Won't get fooled again.

after really reading all of 9 years of posts, I see employees with so much spark and drive. It is so sad that they are going to be left by the road side. Employers, read some of these posts and see what sort of team members you could actually have. I am not sad to have left this behind, still do it with CPM once a week, but it is being phased out.

Bert, you are right about RedBox being a monster biz, you know they bought out NCR/Blockbuster Express machines also. Now they have 1 less competitor.
