Watch out for this company. Did a shop for them and followed the guidelines to the exact. They are accusing me of not following the guidlines and not paying me. They are dishonest people, crooks and I would watch out if you do shops with them. I see with other post that other people have had problems with them so be careful when doing business with them.

I've been shopping with this company since August. I wasn't thrilled with the 60-day pay schedule so I consider their jobs "extras" or fill ins. Plus I do something for them every month so I'm also getting a payment from them every month. With the exception of my first car dealership, which was graded a 9, every report has been a 10. I think they've been fair to me. I do make a point of not taking purchase shops because while I don't mind waiting for the pay, I'm not going to wait over 2 months for money that's come out of my pocket. The 2 companies we've all worked for, both lower paying and one pays monthly and one pays weekly, are the only ones I'll put out much money for because I know they're reliable. With other companies I figure if they have an issue or go belly up I'm out my time and work, but nothing else!

I have been a great shopper for them, have 3 hero citations.
I did a grave site for them and the editor didnot like the way I dug out the grass. It was 180 miles round trip and she was angry because I would not go back at no extra pay and trim the grass again.
I did a auto shop where I was not supposed to take a test drive unless asked by the salesman. I took a test drive as the sales manager asked if I wanted to do so. I was deactivated. I wrote an explanation and did not get the courtesy of a response. Not the best of companies as they do not think that a shopper is important enough to get a reply.

Talk about an attention getter,

"I did a grave site for them and the editor did not like the way I dug out the grass. It was 180 miles round trip and she was angry because I would not go back at no extra pay and trim the grass again. "

At first I thought it was a joke, and was thinking of if it had to be done while dressed up on Halloween or Friday the 13th at night, but there are posts on this forum stating it is a legitimate shop.

For now, I think I'll stick to the boring restaurant, retail stores and maybe an occasional sushi shop.

Happily shopping
Rhode Island and nearby Massachusetts.

I saw a grave site shop and no way does the fee justify the 180 mile round trip.

I had never done a gravesite shop and wanted the experience. I did one for them in Rhode Island and had no problems. What the shop entails is putting some flowers (sent to you in advance) on a grave. It is sometimes difficult to find the grave, digging out any weeds around the base of the grave and washing the stone. I did all that and a junior editor did not like the photos. She said I did not dig out enough around the stone and wanted me to go back. I said that I would not do that twice. She said, "Now I have to go and get someone else to do it and it is a weekend. She was angry that I did ot choose to go back that distance because of her perception that it was not dug out enough. Oh, I forgot. You need pictures before and after the job. I have now had the experience and do not need it again. So much for Hero citations. They are good for something but I cannot fathom what it is.

I also did a shop for a major watch brand (high end) at a casino shopping area. A prerequisite was to get a business card. As we all know, high end watch shops require the salesperson to know watches. How else could someone sell a $5000 watch. My sales person at this casino was a part time kid who did not know s... from Shinola about watches, did not have a business card and there fore I could not obtain one from her. Intellishop refused to pay me for the shop even after I explained the situation to them. I wonder if I brought a smallclaims action against the casino. That might light a fire under them.

Whenever I cant get a proof of visit (business card, pamphlet, etc) I take a picture of the front of the location. Better than nothing.

If she did not have a business card there should have been blank business cards or at least a business card from another employee that she could have put her name on. Worst case I pick up a brochure and ask her to write her name and store phone number.

This company is the least shopper supportive company I have run across.

However, in this case, I feel they were right not to pay someone who did not complete the job correctly. I would have gotten another associates card, manager's card, taken a photo of the location or better yet, sneaked a picture of the associate. There are always options. You cannot leave a location without some type of proof you were there. All companies have similar guidelines and without the proof of visit, you don't get paid.

As for this statement:
"I wonder if I brought a smallclaims action against the casino. That might light a fire under them."

This sounds hot headed, irrational and would do no good. The casino rents out spaces to these stores, they have nothing to do with the mystery shopping that takes place, unless you are shopping the entire casino.

This type of comment is sure to make other companies think twice before hiring someone who does not do the job according to guidelines then threatens going to the client or worse, suing them.

Intteli is of my favorite Co's, They have been supportive, and they have monthly work, and although some of the jobs I enjoyed are gone, I work for them regularly. I do a lot of restaurants (food is my pasion). I did the upscale watch job 3 times in different locations, and gotten paid when they say, although it is too long, many companies pay in this manner. They have business cards, the kid should have gotten you one, or you should have pushed the subject. They really just want to know that you were in the right location. I also take a phamplet as well as card. i think you were at fault, and no, the instructions say to get a business card, so suing would not help you, as you did not follow instructions. next time, bet you'll be fine.

Paminca: I do not disagree with you on Intellishop where you berate me for what I said someone could do. I wouldnot do that as I also realize that suit is a no no. However, I did have pictures of the location, the salespersons name, description but she just did not have a card and they would not pay. That is bad conduct on their part. And I do not mean to dump on you but fact is fact. Thanks Doc.

Doc, remember when you post on a public board that companies, schedulers and other shoppers read, what you type can be taken many ways. It is best to state just the facts, without emotion and possible actions one could take. Your post says: "I wonder if I brought a smallclaims action against the casino. That might light a fire under them." There is no mention of what others could possibly do.

I did not see these facts you just posted until it was brought up by other shoppers.

"However, I did have pictures of the location, the salespersons name, description but she just did not have a card and they would not pay."

Many shoppers report loving working for them and yes they are great to work for, IF, you never need their support or understanding.

I am done shopping for Intellishop too. They take 2+ months to pay and based on my experiences with them do not value or care about their shoppers.

I work a lot for Intelli, and just got payment for Jan. job, right on time. I've almost never had a problem.....and like their jobs. Maybe different locations bring up different problems.

Irene, did you get a payment for January or December? I've always gotten paid on time myself but it's been 60 days.

I've always been treated fairly by this company. Slow payers yes, but pretty much always around the 60 day mark.

Lisa, I got paid, it was 2 months, I don't count the days, but did get it. I've never had a problem about reports or being called (like some Co's do). They have a restaurant I love in Westwood, and just got assigned to it...there is a rotation, so, my turn. Will be doing it next week, and taking my best friend.
