Has anyone done the sports shop this season as of yet (the one where they take a deposit from you and give it back upon the completion of the shop)?

I understand these were lengthy shops when they were done last year...wondering if these have been simplified at all as I am wanting to possibly do one this summer...

Thanks!

Has anyone done their casino shop? I'm thinking of trying one as we got a new casino here.

Has anyone had to contact a scheduler for this company via phone? I don't know if my brain is scrambled or what, but I can't find a phone number. I had a shop due yesterday (Sunday), but when I got to the location it was closed for business. I couldn't find any protocol on what to do, so I took a photo of the closed location and emailed the scheduler. I didn't get a response since it was Sunday, but I haven't gotten one today, either, and now I'm concerned my email didn't get there and I'll get a flag since it was due last night.

There are three types of people in the world, those that can count, and those that can't.

They used to have a phone number on their page. They took off. The number to try is 419.872.5103.

Lately I have been having a HELL of a time touching base with schedulers for this company. They are not answering emails, especially Team Top Gun. I have sent repeated emails with NO response.

Has anyone else received their supplies yet for the Spot-a-Sticker gas card rewards shop? The dates have been extended twice (originally due 7/1-7/7, now due by 19th) and I STILL don't have the necessary supplies to do it. The email from last Monday sounded like everything had already been shipped, but it must have taken a detour on a boat to China or something if that is the case. I'm getting a little antsy, since 1) I have to keep adjusting my schedule to allow time to get them done assuming stuff shows up 2) I'll be out of town the last week of the month so I need to have them all done by next week regardless of deadline extensions.

We are in the same boat Sandi. I took a lot less than previous years (old company gave you routes and I did about 1/3 of the state). I keep getting the same emails. I have emailed them twice and no reply. I keep setting time aside to do them based on their emails.

Thanks, that makes me feel better. I actually only accepted the ones I did specifically because they were not the routes like in previous years (always a few insanely far outliers included in the route). I'm starting to regret accepting any at all.

I called and spoke to someone today who said they've been mailing supplies for almost a month but it is taking a long time for them to arrive. She said they were sent regular postal mail, but it seems to me it must have been the slowest option possible to be taking this long. Since they didn't show up today, it seems this week is now out since Thurs & Fri are already booked during the allowable times with non-negotiable jobs. I had planned to do the majority of them today and tomorrow. The lady indicated changing the dates yet again would not be a problem, so I surely hope that is the case.

I did the same thing. I took mostly local ones. The corporate stores and franchises where I had the least amount of problems in years past.
It used to drive me bananas at some locations, when I would explain to the owner or employee, about the rules of the contest (drive onto lot with decal already fully affixed etc) and they would have a fit because I would not give them a $10 card for all their "dedication" to the brand. Then some would tell all the customers to go slap this on and get $10 in free gas.
Last year, I remember the initial card shipment averaged less than 2 potential cards per store. You could always request more if you ran low. If I would have to request more this year, I'm screwed

It finally arrived yesterday. The postage says it was sent Priority on 7/11, but it was a stamps.com postage sticker so who knows when it actually went into the mailbox. I received 3.5 cards per location. They were not rubber banded together or anything, just loose in the package, so I hope I got what I was supposed to receive. No way they will all be done by tomorrow, though, so I sent the scheduler a notice.

Sandi -

Priority Mail now comes with tracking. If you want more information, input the tracking number at the USPS website and it will tell you when it was accepted by the post office, when it moved from one location to another, and when it was delivered to you.

I find this operation a JOKE. I took 1 store only just to be involved. I got 3 gift cards. If you can believe it, I ran out of cards rather quickly. Then my review chided me for not taking at least 5 cards to the store. Do a bigger mileage search and see how many stores are still available. For $10 you get to drive to a store, spend an hour, and then do the report. All for $10. WOW... That comes out to about $6/hr. If you have any driving involved, you can make about $70 a day. If they guaranteed to get the visits done, they will be breaking the bank later to cover their batootie.

P.S. This is not a mystery shop, this is an event, so it is not a problem to mention both in the same thread.

The hats are very nice. If anyone does not want theirs when they are done with the shops, I will buy them. I am not joking..

Doing these sometime other than in the blistering heat of summertime would be nice. Whoever thought this was a good time of year must obviously not live in the South. Keeping the A/C running while I sat and sweated for 2 hours yesterday probably used up half the shop fee, so I'm glad I only took the few I did. I did two stores, back to back, with not a single winner. The only sticker I saw belonged to an employee.

BTW, when I accepted the job on 6/16, it said:
quote:
"As soon as you spot a customer with one of the promotional bumper stickers, you will award your "winner" and you can end the "event." If after one (1) hour you do not determine a "winner," you may go home.
Only after I took it did the description change to say I must stay the whole hour regardless. Bait and switch!

You can't keep the hats, Cary, the package says you have to return them and the vests.

Has anyone else been invited to apply for their new subsidized cell phone campaign audits?

I have a really good overall score with them, 9/10 with a two hero citations. All my recent shops have been 10s, and I do the new car shops regularly. I found that a year or so ago I was getting asked to do shops often. Now, most of the time, it doesn't even seem like I get an email from them when shops are available.

Sandi, I have been invited to apply for the cell phone audits. I completed the test and was notified that I have been accepted as an auditor. Now I think I am just waiting for the audits to become available. I am looking forward to completing these audits.

I just got my gas station supplies. Does anyone think 3 cards will be enough for 2 shops?

As about half of my stores did not have a single winner at all, it actually is entirely possible that it will be enough. It just depends on how many come in during your visit time.

Darlene - I know this reply is a few days later, but if you haven't done the two shops yet, you may want to scroll up and read Cary in Cincy's July 23 post. He had 3 cards for just one shop, used them all, then got a review that stated he should have taken more cards with him. I don't know if that review simply dinged him a point on his shop score or caused any other issue, but it would certainly cause me a little concern going forward.
