A spudnut is a delicious donut made from potato flour. I grew up
in a town where there was a spudnut shop. Unfortunately, that shop
closed down several years ago. I have heard that the owners retired.
Oh how I wish that someone would have continued this business. My
mouth waters just thinking about those yummy spuddies!!!
I am sure that there must be a shop somewhere that makes Spudnuts.
Please post if you have any info. at all about Spudnuts. These
wonderful spuddies are highly addictive!!!!

Just saw your post tonight. You brought back some happy memories. When I was a kid living in Lubbock, Tx. My family owned a Spudnut shop. They were delicious! Have not had any in years. Surely there are still Spudnut shops around. MM

There is a place in Charlottesville, Virginia called SpudNut. They are still open. They are family owned, least the last I knew, and they have decreased their hours of operation now from what I hear.

Found an article done last year, but I just went past the place the other day and made the comment to my dad. I am surprised they are still open. He use to know the owners quite well. He said, Yea but they are only open for breakfast and lunch now. Anyway they are still around. Here is the link for the article. http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowUserReviews-g57592-d416624-r5509943-Spudnut_Shop-Charlottesville_Virginia.html

If you come this way and want directions let me know, I am from around there.

Janette, I am sorry I do not have the recipe for Spudnuts. I was just a kid and I watched them lots of times and even helped some but I do not remember what happened to the recipe. I do remember my Dad would go to Ft. Worth, Texas to buy the Spudnut flour. Mary
