"J.M. Ridgway is also a proud member of the Mystery Shoppers Providers Association (M.S.P.A.), on the web at http://www.mysteryshop.org & The Better Business Bureau (Member # 13184402)."

However, I don't find them listed currently as a member on MSPA's website.

I did a grocery shop in January. It is April and I had to request payment... they are always slow.

This is a great company. I wish they had more shops in my area.

It has been over 60 days since I did a grocery shop and I too had to request payment. I got a quick email back that the scheduler had forwarded my request on to someone else at the company.

I received my payment today via Paypal for the April shop. From other posts on this board, it appears that many shoppers have had to ask for their payment.

I am suspicious of this company. It is rare that a mystery shop company has so many grammatical and spelling errors on their forms. Also, their emails are full of grammar and spelling mistakes.

This company claims that they have been a mystery shopping company since 1924? Really? How could that be?

JMRidgway is a legit company - but I have encountered several problems in the 2+ years I've worked for them.

1. Poorly written instructions in many different fonts that are exceedingly difficult to read and full of hostile threats to shoppers,
2. Poor communication with their shoppers - snippy or incoherent 2-3 word emails from schedulers,
3. Payment I must chase on a monthly basis. 60-90 day pay cycle.

Why do I choose to work for JMR? Because so many of their jobs go unshopped (see #1,2, and 3 above), there are great bonuses at month's end.

Yes, the bonuses are nice. The scheduler I worked with was fantastic. But chasing down money isn't. I was rather surprised when I received my first check from them. Handwritten letter, handwritten check. No stub attached. Hmm. So yes, if you don't mind waiting and can let them store up a couple payments then write and remind them, you can get a hefty check in the mail.

I've done a few shops for them and they do pay, but I've had to request payment. I might consider doing jobs for them again if they pay well enough, and if they don't require that I spend my own money upfront. They make me nervous...

I did a shop on July 3rd and I just emailed them as I have not been paid. They won't let shopper use their online "contact us" form. Sheesh...

Connie, did you email Anne? She is really prompt on returning any invoice-related payment questions. I emailed her on a couple of late June payments as a reminder and received a payment via Paypal that same day.

Also, JM seems to be on a 60-day payment schedule.

Hi Eric, I emailed AA@JMRidgway.com, hopefully that's her address. That was my first (and probably last) shop for them. It's been more than 60 days now, and I hate chasing payments (but I will).
