Have any of you heard anything about an upcming assignment for FOL? Two of my DG managers have asked me if I know when I will be doing this. Not on my schedule. They seem to think it is supposed to be next week (week of the 15th)

yes, Gayle, the resets start the 22nd of Febuary.you should have rec'd an checklist from your DM to start making sure all components have begun to arrive. this is what we received from our DM and REgional to ask our stores as we go in this week.

During your Dollar General weekly visits please do the following:
Talk to the SM about the Hanes Apparel Reset - let them know they will be working with you during the Removal process of reset and working HHT Gun is needed
SM will be receiving 4 different shipments.
Look to see if any of the components have arrived, if so place in the Drive Line Area in stock room.
Hold for Driveline Kit - included in the February 2nd fulfillment kit, this should already be in all stores
1 Box Labeled “Apparel Reset PEG 20PK - These were sent with the SMART team reset fixtures
20 Flat boxes
New Hanes Product

This is what we were sent
Thanks

Our segment starts the 22nd of Feb... If it goes like it always does we are usually first, and then everyone else starts... Might say we are the testers...

Nope, I haven't gotten any kind of list at all from my DM just when it is supposed to start. Although I have a good relationship with both managers and had stopped in today to talk with them about this assignment.

Is there a working HHT gun
Was the Apparel Kit received in the 2-2 fulfillment shipment
Was the Box of 20 peg Hooks received
Was the 20 Flat Box's received

I had applied at Driveline and received an email back that they would be interested in me. Then they stated that the starting wage would be $8.00 and hour. Emailed them back and said "Thanks" but I would not be pursuing the merchandising position. I haven't worked a merchandising position for less than $12/hour even when I started a couple of years ago. I 8 bucks the standard for them?

Yes, thats about standard everywhere... It might not be much, but at least it pays some bills..
I have been with Driveline for 5 years, I love the flexibility that I have, and when you have a good DM and Regional that makes it even better... Yes we lost our bonus and the matching of our 401K, but like I said, the work is steady, and I have a job...

The pay may not be double digit, but like Sharon says they have steady work and it is a job, and it does pay some of my bills.

I agree with Sue and Sharron, it is steady work and it helps pay the bills. Plus it helps when you have a good manager.

We've been cut down on wages per hour with a few companies already at least 2 for me, and also they hrs have been cut to almost half of what I used to work. If not that we were laid off so they can hire new employees at a lower rate from $12 to $1O, like Market Connect Group did just last year.

With the experience you have it's a good thing you didn't accept the $8 because you would had stayed with that, period. They don't really give raises according to my District Manager. She told me they get to choose 1 person for a raise, only, and the person chosen will be audited on all her stores and work and if all is well she'll get a raise, penneys she said. That counts me out since I live small town with not much work for them, and I'm not one of her favorites.
This is only true with my District Manager, I heard it different with others.

You should try explaining why you deserve to start at a hirer pay before just giving them a NO. It worked for me from $10 to $13, with a different company, explaining I'm be working for them long term and didn't expect a raise. Asked if they gave raises, answered NO, that's why I need to start at a higher raise, I been with companies for 5-6 yrs.....their competitors pay higher.

I went to work for Drive Line (at that time called Service Solutions, then Archway) in March of 2004, at $8.00 per hour. I was given a raise of .24cents each year until I quit in 2007. There was never a time that I did not receive my check on time. At that time I had 7 Family Dollars and 15 Dollar Generals, along with WM's and KMart, then they changed policy and cut me to 4 Dollar Generals and I quit.....they recently called and asked if I would take some stores in the area, all at least 30 miles from my home....and I was offered $8.00 per hour.

As with any company now days, everyone is cutting back, when I hired on in Jan of 2005, I was looking for something to keep me active, because I am a cancer patient... I was not looking for another career.. Needless to say, I have one now as the Senior Area Coord. for out Dist..... I have always gotten my raise, and that is because I have a 100% on time execution for all plans, even the ones I have to take on at the last moment... No I don't get paid enough for the work I do,(does anybody) but there again, it comes back to the way the economy is now, I have a job, and I have a good job.... I have run up against a lot of people that would like to do what I do.... This one gentlemen I just trained was a loan specialist, and was laid off, he was happy with the $8.00 a hour after not working for six months...
