| I'm sorry this happened to you, Selene. One thing I got in the habit of doing is, anytime I get a confirmation page after finishing the shop report, I highlight the entire thing and paste it into an email to myself, or into a word document I can save on my computer. This way I have an electronic version showing confirmation of my report. If there is any discrepancy, I can easily forward it to the company to show that the report was indeed submitted, according to their system. Second to None gives a pretty clear confirmation screen that is easy to copy & paste. Hope this helps for the future. |

I have a question and need some input...
Do you think it is feasible that I continue performing the coffee shop jobs throughout my pregnancy? I am only three months right now and do several a week. However, no one can tell I am pregnant.
I never drink the coffee anyway - even before I was pregnant, but do you think when I am "showing" that it will raise some flags with the employees? Or are there pregnant women who do drink coffee?
I am thinking maybe I should email my scheduler about this, but I wanted to see if anyone has any personal experience with this situation.
Thanks. |

I would say its all right. Not all women who are pregnant stop drinking coffee. Just like many don't stop smokeing while pregnant either. If you are still worried then e-mail the scheduler. In my area for certain coffee shops, the required purchase is a decaf. Maybe you could just try accepting those ones to help you feel more at ease. Aslo, a big Congrats!! to you. |

Hey - my poor distracted mind didn't even think about the decaf shops - great point. I guess this baby, # 4, is aleady having a toll on me.
Thanks for the kudos! |

There are plenty of pregnant women, who drink coffee throughout their pregnancy. In fact, the scientists keep changing their advice to pregnant women in regard to caffeine. For my first two pregnancies I was told to completely avoid it. During my third (the little on is now 15 months old) I was told that one cup a day is fine and in fact good for you. I did those shops throughout my pregnancy and nobody thought twice about it.
I just wish they would change the purchase requirements for the summer months to the colder variety of beverages. It does look very odd, when it is in the 90s to 100s outside, everybody around me orders something cold, and here I am ordering something hot |

I'm about 7 months pregnant and have been doing the coffee shops. I hadn't really thought about it and no one has said anything. I do drink regular coffee here and there anyway (and drank a LOT of coca-cola early on as it was the only thing that helped with morning sickness...)
The shops I worried about more were the cigarette purchases ;) but no one said a word... I wore my big winter coat and wasn't showing that much... I wouldn't do them at this point though!!
Congrats to you, btw!!!!

| That nightly update/site maintenance drives me crazy. It happens in AZ at 9:30 which always seems to be when I am doing my reports. I have never had one not go through but I'll sure be careful to watch that in the future. |

| Is the game shop a compliance shop and requires a teen to be there? The other MSC that does age compliance games is a large electronic store and easy for me to "hide" and observe - how do you do that in a small game shop? |

LK., It's likely, too, that one of the partners will think you are picking up the coffee for someone else, especially since you don't actually drink the beverage while in the location.
Ditto the notion that they change the beverage to something cold and icy this summer. When I am buying one of the hot beverages in the summer, I mumble to the cashier that I just left the grocery store and am FREEZing. |

Hi everyone! I hope someone can give me some insight. I just signed up with STN and there were a few coffee shops in my area that I was interested in. I took the quiz and everything, only to find out when I tried to request one of the shops, I have to pay $35 for the thermometers and scale. Has anyone done these shops? I don't know if it's feasible for me to do this since I have to consider drive time to get to the locations (I believe there were 7) and everything else, especially since I'm not guaranteed to get a passing evaluation. I don't doubt my abilities, it's just that two of the shops pay $9, the others $7 plus reimbursement. So, is it worth it?? These are the only shops they have besides two game store shops, which I'll probably do since reading here that you can buy gift cards.
Thanks for any input!!

The $35 charge for the equipment is refundable if you decide not to do the shops and return the equipment. Also, they'll take it out of your first few assignments - you don't have to pay upfront for it. Give it a try and see if you like it. Good luck.

| I have signed up to work with this company twice in the past couple of years since I have been MS. I know they have shops in my area because my cousin does some. I will see if I can find a phone number for them and call. Anyone have any other thoughts or encountered the same thing? |

| I didn't hear for a year after I applied; I emailed the scheduler and she ordered the equipment and put me on her email notification list. |

I sent an email to the scheduler for my area and she replied today that she'll send the equipment out today. I'm going to give it a try, as there are about 7 shops here that need to be done.
I'll let you know if it doesn't work out for me. I think I'm going to take the game store shops too. I can get the gift cards for my hubby for his Xbox 360.

| To Cinthia or any others that have had trouble getting a response from Second-to-None. I was able to email someone that checked into it for me and I had to submit another application. She checked and my original application was over the 250 character mark and did not accept it. Go ahead and apply again and make sure to check your character count on the other company section. Hope that helps you get started. |

Hi All! I wanted to post so I can say how great the scheduler for my area, Angie is! From day one, I've been able to get in contact with her and she always responds quickly. She's always willing to help if I have a question or any issue. I'm glad I did take the coffee shops, I have three more lined up. They are fairly easy to get through and report. I feel bad for anyone who is or has had negative experiences with STN. |
