This years' conference will be held at the beautiful Suncoast Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada. The dates are August 15th through August 17th, 2010.
Phone number 1-866-636-7111
Group Offer Code: 1IMSC08

We have negotiated rates of $39.00 a night, plus a $5.00 a night resort fee. The resort fee is standard in Las Vegas with some hotels charging as much as $24.95 a night. The resort fee covers your transportation to and from both the airport and the strip during your entire stay at the hotel. A schedule will be sent to all conference attendees and airport reservations are required. The rooms are 550 square feet. You can choose one king size bed or two queen size beds. So, shoppers who wish to share a room can do so for only $22.00 a night per person.

All rooms include a refrigerator and coffee maker. Cox Internet service is available.

The hotel overlooks Angel Park Golf Course and an upgrade for golf view rooms is only $5.00 for conference attendees. Space is limited.

Reserve your room by calling:

There are seven restaurants inside the hotel, a sixteen screen movie theater, sixty four lane bowling alley, and an arcade. Across the street, within walking distance is Boca Park.

Boca Park is a wide mix of freestanding retailers including unique boutiques, salons, art galleries, brand-name stores, and restaurants. Some of the stores include The Great Indoors, Linen N' Things, The Cheesecake Factory, PF Changs, Mimi's Café, Claim Jumper, Barnes & Noble, Pier 1, Sport Chalet, Jason's Deli, The Melting Pot, Whole Foods, Ross, Williams Sonoma, Tallulah G, and Pink.

I made a trip to the hotel to "check it out" while in Vegas and it is everything advertised ! It is really a lovely hotel and casino. For gamblers 50+, we even earn better points on designated days. I can't wait until August !

When I made my hotel reservation there did not seem to be any option to extend the reservation for an extra night at the conference rate. Have any arrangements been made to get a special rate for those coming in one night early or staying one extra night?

Thanks for all the work. This looks like a really great location for our group.

Yes, there are extended rates. However, the system does not appear to be showing the correct amounts. A phone call to the hotel tomorrow should take care of that. The Saturday rate is correct.

Edit:
The hotel is arranging for a minimum of three days prior to and after our event for the special pricing. The weekends will of course be higher. There will be a post here when the site is corrected. Also, the hotel has guaranteed us that if the rates to the general public happen to go lower during our visit, we will get lower rates as well.

Having worked at the Sun Coast, I can give you a small preview of what to expect at the facility. I worked several years as a dealer for Coast Resorts, finishing out my tenure with them at Sun Coast in 2003.

The Sun Coast is only about 10 years old. It is a huge step up in class from last year's IMSC location, and I applaud our organizers. All the restaurants at the Sun Coast serve good food. I have a discriminating taste, and I eat at their buffet occasionally. It has an international cuisine that allows you to eat from 5 different cuisines if you are that hungry, and I usually am. They also have a 24-hour restaurant that serves great food. The ice cream parlor serves delicious ice cream.

I have visited their movie theater, which is state-of-the-art with a big screen and comfortable chairs, but the movies are not cheap. There is a good sized pool on one of the upper floors.

The casino area is full size with an abundance of slots and table games with dealers, who will explain the games if you ask. The casino is frequented mostly by locals, many of whom are affluent. There is a good house band that plays nightly. The crowd is an older crowd than what you would find on the strip, and they do not stay up as late.

The casino is located near Summerlin, an up-scale residential area far from the strip and downtown area, but it is easily accessible just off the freeway. There is one small, but cozy and friendly casino nearby, which is frequented by the same clientèle. There is also a shopping center and golf course nearby.

"This is to confirm that the group rate is good 5 days prior and 5 days after (based on midweek / weekend rates). The link has been corrected."

One of our fantastic attendees is going to put together a "Room Share" for folks that are interested in sharing a room during the conference. As soon as she has everything set up, we will post an update here.

Hi Everyone,
For those who are wishing to share a room with another attendee in order to cut down on the cost, Melissa Bloom has set up a spreadsheet and will be assisting in matching folks up with potential roommates.

If you are in need of a roommate please send an email to IMSCroomshare@gmail.com with the following information:

Name:
Home State:
Dates you are planning on staying (arrival/departure):
Smoking preference:
Gender:
Any special requests you may have:

Just a quick disclaimer – this is being provided as a courtesy and neither us as individuals nor the IMSC will be responsible or liable for anything that could go wrong with sharing a room.

Thanks and I’m looking forward to seeing you there!

Our agreement with the hotel is that our rates will be guaranteed the lowest that the hotel is offering. We were notified by one of our attendees that they saw a lower rate than we currently were offered. A call was immediately placed to the hotel. Within hours, we received this email.

"We have great news! Due to competitive room rates in the Las Vegas market, we are reducing our rates and wanted your group to be one of the first to receive our special offer. We are offering your group the following special rates:

$39.00 Sunday through Thursday nights
$69.00 Friday and Saturday nights "

One of our attendees just told us this.
"Ok I just booked my room but I had to book through Expedia because when I tried your link and try to submit payment it said "House Overbooked" Rut Roh!"

Due to our agreement with the hotel, reservations are now only being accepted if space is available. You will need to call to check on availability.

Here is the information you will need
