Well, just a heads-up on this new Debit Card we are getting. I got
mine today and registered....no problems there. The PROBLEM is the
FEE SCHEDULE (posted on the Premium web site)!! After using the card ONE TIME per pay period, there is a FEE of 0.25 to use the card as a DEBIT transaction.....it looks like there are no fees to use as a Credit transaction. But to use as a Debit, and/or to get "Cash Back" using your PIN in a store, there is a 0.25 per transaction fee.

This may not seem like much on the surface, but if you swipe your
card 12 times per month, ONLY THE FIRST ONE PER PAY PERIOD IS FREE. So we will be charged $2.50 for the other 10 swipes!!!

Personally, I find this AWFUL, and have written my RMM, asking
who we can write to about this......what was wrong with the
other card we were using???? Nothing that I can see!!!

BeverlyAnn, THANK YOU for the heads-up. I had not looked into all of it yet. I am thoroughly disappointed myself. They will be forcing us to use it as a credit card or basically holding our money hostage. I always use mine as a debit card so I am aware of exactly what I have on the card.

There are other fees to be aware of also. If you use it and it's declined, there is a .50 fee. Granted, I could understand this if there is no money on the card, but there are other reasons it is declined. There are times it doesn't go through the first time for whatever reason but usually takes it the second time. Does that mean we would be charged .50 for the failed transaction?

Please let me know if you find out who we can write to on this matter.

Other problems with the new card, it cannot be used at a gas pump, (the only way I use this card and for food when on the road). I will have the money tranfered to my old card, as I have other companies on that card. You should not have to pay to use your payroll.....just plain old wrong.

Kelly, it is a great company to work for.....just a few problems along the way.....nothing that cannot be worked out.

Jan,

Sure, I will post if and when I hear who we can contact about this.
We shouldn't have to PAY to USE our OWN MONEY!! That stinks!!

ADP was doing a TERRIFIC job, I think! I wonder WHY Premium felt
compelled to switch Pay Providers. Maybe someone from the Home Office
in Premium will come on this board and address this for us.

Maralyn, that's a bummer about the gas card. But I'm thinking
like you...just have it transferred to my bank and use my bank
card....at least there doesn't SEEM to be a fee to transfer it
all over to my bank.

I haven't gotten my card yet and was just getting used to the ADP If you guys use it like I do (get groceries, gas, drug store, etc.,)this doesn't sound good using debit. But I think if you use credit it might be OK. I think you could still go inside the gas station to pay for gas???

It says you must go inside, but if I have to pay extra everytime, I won't do that either, easier to tranfer it to another card. Oh well, just grateful to have a job.

I worked for a convenience store company a few years ago that was going to this type of debit card thing for paychecks. The fees were outrageous for them too, but figured out a solution at the company meeting, to go to the bank, swipe it one time, pull your money out all at once. Or if that doesn't work, go to the local grocery store etc., get a menial purchase, and ask for the maximum cash back using the card. Just some thoughts....

The state of Indiana unemployment is set up the same way, I just used the 1 time and took most of my money. Or used it as a credit card.

Well, just learned that the FEES HAVE BEEN DROPPED for swiping the
new Debit Card for either a plain POS sale and/or a POS sale with
cash advance....SO.....no 0.25 fee every time we swipe the card!!

YAY!!!

I got an email from my RMM today about it....she said others also
had concerns about this, so I am glad if others wrote to their
RMM also.

The new fees are posted on the Premium Payroll page....I am
thankful for the disappearance of that fee!!

Can someone explain to me why when I got the first deposit to my card that it was $18.15 less than the amount posted by Premium as my current pay? Would that be tax deductions? If so, I wish that Premium would list that info. Or, perhaps I'm not looking at the correct payroll page on Premium??

Hi Bekki,

Yes, there will be a difference between what Premium has as your total pay and what you get paid, and you are correct...the difference will be the deductions to your paycheck. When you register for the W-2 page, you should be able to see these deductions. HTH

Thank you, Beverly, for clarifying this matter. It just seemed strange at the time and, then, when I called, I was on hold for, like, 25 minuites with the new pay card company.

Thanks

Ya'll better check with the Comdata, I just talked with them, they looked it up and said if you use your card as a debit card, after the first use, you will be charged. If you use it as a credit card you won't be charge, I don't see the difference, they are both a transaction that take money from your account. But they are in charge of our money, not us.

Well Maralyn, you are right!! I used my card 5 times today....4 as debit and 1 as credit. And right now the transactions are listed as "Pending", so maybe this will change. But for the first Debit transaction, no charge. For the Credit transaction, no charge.

Here's the weird thing: for the next 3 Debit charges, the cost
IS 0.25 more than the actual receipt....but the 0.25 fee IS NOT LISTED
AS A SEPARATE FEE!!! It is just one total transaction amount.

Now THAT could get CONFUSING, not seeing the 0.25 fee as a separate
listing!!

HOWEVER....I will wait till it is finalized from "Pending" to whatever
it's called when it's done. At that point, it the 0.25 isn't taken off, then I guess I'll have to call them and read them the
NEW FEE PAGE off our Payroll page!! We'll see!!

Well, here is the first strange incident I've had (besides the fact that this card is strange anyway--I had always used the old Premium card to pay Netflix each month (my big $10 monthly entertainment expense) so I went to change my payment card (using the card as a credit card) and Netflx wouldn't accept this card because it is a "pre-paid card." ??? What makes this card unacceptable vs. the old card???

WOW, that is DEFINITELY odd!! What was wrong with ADP??? NOTHING!!!

Somehow, there MUST have been some sort of monetary incentive for
Premium to switch over our Debit cards....but I really liked ADP!

You nailed it, Beverly Ann. Premium had to have received some incentive to just, BAM, decide to switch payment cards. I don't blame them for saving a dime but I'm just running into a lot of little barriers. Used it for the first time at the grocery store today and it seemed like forever before it was verified!!!
