Hi Bolan747,

Yes, that is good advice, and what my RMM suggested I do. I wrote a letter stating that if the Zone Merchandiser could not handle all the work, there were certain stores within a certain radius of my home that I would be willing to cover. So we'll see how that goes.

Plus, there are certain stores/assignments not covered in the "zones"....one of which is the Healthy Advice jobs. Also, Kohl's, Sam's Club, Bed Bath & Beyond and the Bayer & Discover jobs are not in the "zones". So I am hoping that I will be able to keep those, at least that is what I have requested. But who knows???

Like my RMM told me, it may be so busy the 4th quarter that I
would have enough hours during the week so as not to be assigned
any weekend work, but she COULD NOT PROMISE or GUARANTEE that. And I completely understand that, and like she said, there probably would be some weekends during 4th quarter where I would be expected to work. And I just could not commit to that, since I work for 3 other companies--actually 4 now, since I just got hired on with another company in lieu of anticipating losing my stores with Premium--and I am not going to end up working 7 days a week!

One more thought: there are 2 other Premium reps in my area who are TERRIFIC reps, and I was hoping one of these 2 could at least take over my stores. But one of them is going to be the Zone Specialist in an adjacent area, and the other does not want to put that many hours in with Premium. I would have felt better about giving up my stores to either of those reps, because they are great. We have worked together on team jobs many times, and they have each become a friend now.

So that means a TOTAL STRANGER will be taking over my stores......and that is one of the things that bothers me a LOT!! Whereas if one of these other 2 Reps had taken the position, I wouldn't mind so much, because they hold to the same high standards that I do about getting the work done right, but if it is someone who has NO idea how these stores work, and how to maneuver within the stores...especially Walmart...then I DO have concerns how this will turn out.

For those of you that are "Zone Reps" I suggest you speak to your RMM if you are looking for additional work. Going into 4th quarter we will need your assistance to help the Zone Specialist's with any over flow work. Also, there is alot of non "Zone Specialist" work that we need Zone Reps to help us with. Please feel free to contact me if you have any other Zone questions. I am here to help.

I had 3 WM's,3 walgreens,BB that I have been servicing since the day the stores opened. I have been with Premium for 10 years. In my area which isn't a metro area, there are 4 other merchandisers.I told my RMM that I would take any avaiable jobs that there are. I didn't apply for the zone merchandiser job as I don't have a smart phone and couldn't afford one anyway. I am basically down to working for 1 company now. I worked for a company that just did big box sporting good stores and the 2 I serviced went out of business last Dec. 2011.I had a rep job with a manufacturer but they laid off all their reps in march due to the economy.and 2 other companies are down to once in a while jobs. I keep putting in apps. but nothing coming my way.

Sue maybe you can take on those ridiculous Discover jobs then. They pay nothing but PRS is proud of them! (If you get enough of them they pay great if you have a hybrid car.)They must be making a killing off of them because we aren't!

Bolan, I haven't seen any differnece since taking the position of Zone Merchandiser. No pay increase no nothing. It was only because 2 companies in Best Buy wanted us to be able to scan QR codes. It has screwed up scheduling more than anything for our managers. Things are out of hand if you ask me.The only difference is that it cost me more for a phone I don't need each month and no work for the jobs that want it to pay for it!Really!!!!!

Arla, I do get the Discover jobs. But i luck out on them. They are always close together a lot on the same street and within walking of at least 5-6 at a time, and a lot of them are in industrail areas all close together. A few times I have gotten 1 in a town that is 15 miles or more away and I just email my RMM and tell her it is too far to travel.

Still looking for more work, at this rate I'm going to have to apply for welfare.
For Aug. I only have 1 Healthy job with premium.

Hey kiddo, apply with the Pet Firm for demos and merchandising (they do both), and other demos companies too. They pay better than merchandising and are easier. Also see if BDS/Channel Partners has any openings in your area. You can apply to them on line. I know what you mean. I went through most of my pathetic savings for a few months this year and it's depressing. Keep looking on Shadow Shoppers and NARMS and just apply everywhere. Call All Over Media. They took over and bought GSA Media and do the signage installs at gas stations and some other places. They may be looking too. Hang in there. The ecomony is just still horrible and retail seems to be getting worse by the minute too. I am currently killing myself with work (way more than I can really do or even want to do) and it's taking a huge toll on me emotionally, mentally and physically. But I am trying to build up my reserves because I know it won't last and I'll be sitting around with no work again, soon enough. Keeping my fingers crossed for you.

No other comments....Happy!??? I love my job! I like being able to be honest voice my opinion to people with questions. Let's all be honest. There are all probs with all companies but nothing is terrible. The written word is more terrible than talking. Everything is lost is translation. GOD I miss the old fashion way of people actually communicating!!!!! I wouldn't be in trouble all the time!

Linda3456,

What makes you wonder if Premium lost the RSP account in Walgreens?

Well, that's interesting, because Walgreens has been sharing its vendor work with both Premium and Crossmark for some time. But since I could not take the position of the Zone Merchandiser, I'm "out of the loop" basically now. I did have 2 Walgreens, but those went into the "Zone" list, so I don't know. Hopefully a Zone Rep will post an answer to that question. Maybe Premium got the full account so that now only Premium services Walgreens????? Just a thought.

Yes, there is a letter about it on the Premium dashboard. This will be the last week of RSP service. I really enjoyed working with Walgreen's, very nice people there.

Always looking for great companies to work for in the SW OH, SE IN and Northern KY areas!

Beverly Ann, Yes Premium lost it also it's just that when we comment we (me) We get in trouble so that's why you don't hear anything. Advantage Marketing got the account. It's all over the internet and not a secret. Crossmark made it known.

The discovers are one of the easiest jobs you can do! This time around though they give you thirty minutes if they are successful visits. It comes in handy when you can do them as you are doing your other services. I would be willing to take more on in my area, if I had the chance. The pay for a successful visit is what you would normally get for 30 minutes of regular work anyway.

Does anyone know anything about the "Pet Ambassador" jobs that Premium is currently advertising for on NARMS?
