1) I will NOT overschedule myself to the point where I am putting in reports when I should be sleeping.

2) I will lay off the fast food jobs as my hips have had enough fries!

3) I will keep up with my paperwork so my office doesn't look like a tornado went through it.

4) I will ORGANIZE my office so once things are put away I might be able to find them again if I need to do so.

5) I will remember there is a life outside of Mystery Shopping and try to enjoy some of it instead of always chasing just "one more job".

How bout you???

I will not take jobs that require you to shop a specific person. I just don't have the time to be trying to hunt people down. I will also be more selective about the shops I do take and not over burden myself. When I am not eating out for shops I will be more aware of what I am eating and try to make healthier, less fattening choices. Six months from now you should repost and ask us if we've kept these resolutions! Good luck everyone!

I will stick to my 20 mile radius (unless it's one of those over $100 reimbursement/fee shops or I'm heading that way for something else important).

Like Jakki, I will not shop specific people.

I will no longer take shops for products or in areas I don't like.

I will record each job on my spreadsheet as soon as I finish submitting it .

I will toss out all the extra brochures and other junk that comes with certain jobs, immediately.

I will stick to my filing system.

I will throw all but one of the french fries in the trash can. I will not eat them. I will waste them, although it goes against everything I learned growing up. They are better in the trash than around my middle.

I will learn more about computers so I don't look like an idiot. I will look for more jobs and not get distracted by Club pogo games as much. I will not take any more jobs in areas where the only reason someone fitting my profile is there to buy crack. I will stop moaning everytime I see a e-mail from Ray.

I kept a few of my resolutions.
I no longer do the FF shops with the dine in and drive thru in one shop.
I rarely take any shop with a fee under my "personal" minumum.
I no longer take food shops if I can not eat at least something on the menu(diabetic).
But,my number one accomplishment is:
I do NOT-repeat, DO NOT drink every single cup of coffee on my round of coffee shops!

I feel much better now!

I have failed at sticking to my filing system and promptly throwing away all the brochures, etc. I've got mountains of paperwork around my bedroom that I intend to take care of this summer. ()

Oh dear. And I started this thread!!
I am still overscheduling myself and struggling with paperwork. I bought a file cabinet that is sitting empty right now and paperwork is everywhere. The only resolution I even partly kept was the one about the fries and my thighs. I still do the fast food shops but I eat them bun-less. Low carb has peeled about 30 pounds from me!

And a life outside of Mystery Shopping? Was I nuts?

While it is not a "New Year's Resolution" I have definitely stopped doing MS jobs that don't pay a fee. The only exception is a shop that I would be doing anyway in real life, for example going to Chuck E Cheese.

I have seen the thread about Chuck E Cheese and I am grateful as I have one scheduled for next week.

I love everyone's resolutions, especially Jackie and Theresa. I echo all of them with these additions:
-I will try one completely new shopping experience a month (experiencing a full spectrum only makes me better)
- I will avail myself of all trainings possible
- I will not feel guilty for being "picky" about choosing shops - even for companies I love.
- I will overlook the gross spelling and information errors companies give me (even though they expect a higher level from me)
- I will continue to do what I enjoy, and enjoy what I do - shopping!

My New Year's Resolutions for Mystery Shopping:
1) I will follow the sample comments for narratives no matter how much I think the client wants more information.
2) I will improve my off-the-cuff skills to be ready for any odd situation that occurs.
3) I will no longer accept jobs that have outlandish requirements where I feel I cannot be anonymous. In other words, I will be removing the flashing "Mystery Shopper" neon sign from my forehead.
4) If I make a mistake, I will accept that I am not perfect and not be too hard on myself.
5) I will remember that mystery shopping is fun, and when I start to feel it is no longer enjoyable, I will take a break.

I will remember that I don't need the name/description of the clerk everytime I run across the street to get milk/TP/catfood.

I will remember that I live here, I am NOT (apt)shopping the landlord.

I will remember that I live in apt the next time that I do an electronics shop and do not need any of the following: 62" plasma TV/4- line phone system w/free handsets/8.1 mp digital cameras/pda-phone-camera-Star Trek Commnicator/23 inch HD flat screen monitor/2nd laptop.
