A MSC has attempted to submit payment using this service.

The website - payquicker.com - has the following quote that suggests it is a paypal alternative. However, a google search was unable to give me an impartial review from a reputable source. Any comments???

"PayQuicker enables you to consolidate access to all of your bank accounts under one easy application. You can send payments and receive money for free. You can also connect to bank accounts that you have at other financial institutions and move money between them.
Business

PayQuicker has been designed to satisfy the high volume transaction needs of the ecommerce sales and marketing industries. Our goal was to make PayQuicker a member to member based, borderless, free transaction platform to save hundreds of thousands of dollars in bank transaction fees for our members each pay period."

Hmmmmm, 74 views and not one comment?

Perhaps there are no independent reviews or articles about this company.

Well, if there is a legitimate alternative to PayPal, I'd be glad to use it. Is the company that wants to use it a legit company?

I just got a payment from a MSC that uses this.
I can't find where it's free to move the money.

I went ahead and signed up, as I had money owed and needed it into my bank account. I have used this service twice so far, and have received no spam to date. The transfer was free and the money did arrive within two day's directly into my bank account, so far

Have used this service twice... so far so good...little concerning when I saw someone with my same name on my homepage with some bank I have never heard of. Still in the "wait and see mode"; the MSC I contract under pays the 1.00 transfer fee.

Ed, did you not have a concern about giving them your social security number? As much as I despise PayPal, they have only the bare minimum of my information tied to a credit card.

Julie...yes, but these MSC's have lots of my info and, agreed, it's scary especially for the ones that have gone out of business...who knows where that data is...UGH. BTW got paid on 2/15/12 with these guys, the fund transfer hit my credit union within a half hour.

I was forced to sign up to receive a payment. The list I saw says I have to pay fifty cents to get my money transferred to my bank account. I don't really like that even if it is a small amount. I have applied for a debit card but I am sure it will be deactivated after three months because I don't shop for this company often enough to keep it active.
Why can't they just direct deposit like the others?

ACE uses this service and they pay the fee for one transfer per month to your bank account (because they only pay once a month.) It seems fair to me.

When I use the transfer to my bank, it said "free," not sure why you saw $.50.

If you read the ACE Mystery Shopping thread there is MUCH discussion on this topic. A very brief overview of PayQuicker:

It is a PayPal like service.
ACE Mystery Shopping is paying exclusively through this service.
The PayQuicker bank is FDIC insured.
The transfer is free, and it happens pretty quick.

It's legit, though some people aren't big fans others are. If you want to work for ACE, you'll have to get it though.

I just got notification of pay from ACE, so far so good. I wonder if more companies are going to use PayQuicker. It seems like a better alternative to Paypal (although I have NOT had any issues with Paypal either. I like using them for MS)

Person to Person Quality had a notice that you could choose Payquicker instead of PayPal for their payments.

I just read through the discussion on the ACE forum about Payquicker, and have some info I want to share with others here (haven't visited Volition in at least a year or more - I think it's important enough to share here).

I don't work for ACE much, and when I recently received the notice that I HAD to sign up for Payquicker, I was not happy. I went onto the Payquicker site and read the fine print (i.e., list of fees and other general information). This was a few days ago.

1. According to the list of fees, transferring money from Payquicker to your bank account has a $0.50 charge attached (each time), whether to a linked bank account or using ACH.

2. I also recall reading somewhere that the only other option for getting your money for FREE from Payquicker is to request a debit card from them, which I did, reluctantly. I don't want or need another avenue for receiving money. I have PayPal, I'm happy with them, have never had a problem.

3. The only way to use the money on my debit card for FREE is to use it as a credit card which is possible, and OK with me - however, I don't like my money being handled this way. I want my incoming money from ACE and any other MS company to be easily transferred to my main bank account. I want all my money in one place. That's not possible with Payquicker without paying a fee ($0.50). I don't want to use this money for 'buying things' when I'm out and about - I want to put this money in my bank account so I can pay bills with it. Again, this is not possible without paying a fee, according to their fee schedule.

4. I recall reading somewhere among Payquicker's info that if my account is inactive for 2 months, they will charge me an inactivity fee. Considering how often I work for ACE, this is highly likely to happen to me often. Why should I have to pay anything? I don't pay an inactivity fee to PayPal.

5. I also recall reading among Payquicker's info that if I close my debit card account with them, they'll charge me a fee for that. So basically, no matter what I do, Payquicker will be charging me a fee one way or another.

Frankly, as far as I'm concerned, this is an outrageous rip-off.

I called the customer support number given by Payquicker (1-866-203-0571) to talk to a real person. After pressing 0 for the CSR, the automated recording stated that I did not have enough funds in my account to justify this activity (What? I can't call them for free either? I have to have money in my account first?).

I then called the customer support number given by Steve on the ACE blog (1-866-400-2712, Option 2) in order to speak to Steve directly. A woman answered the phone, I asked all my questions, and this is what she told me:

Transferring money from my PQ account to my EXTERNAL bank account is free, and the usual fee is covered by ACE. Transfers to an external bank account are not listed on PQ's fee schedule. I told the lady they need to add that item to their list of fees. ACE did not tell me they would cover this charge, so I had no idea.

She also said that I would not be charged an inactivity fee on my account after 2 months of inactivity. This of course is pure hearsay, since there is nothing written about that. I'm not sure I believe that at all.

She also said that when I'm ready to close my account, there would be no fee for that, either. Again, if that's true, why did the material I read indicate the opposite? Again, I don't know what to believe.

I told her about the weird automated response I got when I called 1-866-203-0571. She said even though I have money in my PQ account, the money has to be in my debit card in order to get connected to a CSR - so the money needs to get transferred first. How weird is that?

I had to call Steve's number to get through to this woman for these answers. Had I not visited the ACE blog about PQ, I never would have seen this phone number to get around all the obstacles designed into their system. What a royal rigmarole!

I also was not able to transfer money on their website from my account to my debit card with the new PIN number I had just set up a few days before. She explained that I had to use my original PIN number for that, and my new PIN number was for using my card as a debit card. It would have been nice if that information had been made clear somewhere on their website or in the paperwork I received with my debit card. Bottom line, this means I need 2 PIN numbers - one for transferring money whenever I get paid, and one for using my card as a debit card. Can we make this any more complex?

All this, not to mention time spent getting set up with them, then calling to activate my card, then trying to transfer money and being blocked, then not being able to call someone for answers at the first phone number given, just so I can collect the measly $15 that was sent to me last week by ACE.

Considering how little I work for ACE and that all they have in my area are shops that I don't like doing anyway, this will mean the end of me working for ACE. I had to work way too hard for that $15, not to mention all the work I did for the shop itself to earn that money in the first place.

ACE does cover the transfer fee once per month to send money from PayQuicker to your bank account. They only pay once per month, so that seems reasonable. I've been paid a few times since the switch and never had any charges assessed to me. I did not bother with the debit card, so I have no experience with that.

The inactive charge is waived for ACE shoppers as part of the contract. I don't remember where that was posted, I believe that was in info ACE sent when they first switched over.

ACE may have been the first to start using PayQuicker, but I have seen it as an option for at least two other MSC now. The others offered both PayPal and PayQuicker, but it does seem to be gaining traction. I did not want to sign up, and I avoided ACE shops for quite a while until the bonuses became irresistible. They've mostly returned to standard prices now, so others must have also decided to take the plunge.

I agree with Linda... WHY should WE have to jump thru so many hoops just so ACE can save a few pennies? Offering PQ as an OPTION, yes; making it mandatory to get my pay? Not here.

I won't be doing anything further for ACE, or any OTHER MSC that takes this attitude, until they agree to pay my hourly time for establishing and maintaining such an account.

How is this different than MSCs requiring that you use Paypal? Do you not do work for MSCs that require you to use Paypal since they don't pay you an hourly rate to link those payments to your bank account either? Ace is covering the Payquicker fee, so there's no additional cost to use this service. I do occasional work for ACE (don't have much in my area) and the pay is just as reliable as any other method. Setting up the account and linking it to my bank account took a max of 5 minutes, and transferring it to my bank account takes the exact amount of time that Paypal does. As far as I'm concerned, there is no monitoring of an account, I just handle it like I do Paypal payments (immediate transfer to my bank account). If I refused to do work for any MSC that doesn't pay me some sort of hourly rate for monitoring my accounts, I wouldn't be working for many of them as, in my situation, the procedure is no different than for Paypal payments.

It's nice to know NOW, after all I've been through, that ACE covers the transfer fee into my bank account, but it would have been MUCH nicer up front if someone from ACE or PayQuicker would have told me that in the first place.

I never would have requested a debit card if I had known that.

Someone needs to communicate better, is all I can say. I wasn't lazy or stupid - I read through all the information I was given. These little golden nuggets of information should have been made abundantly clear. They weren't - which is exactly why I was left with the impression I had, and had to call a CSR to find out the whole story (assuming what she told me is really true).

I don't have time to be wasting chasing down information like this that should have been made clear from the beginning, you know? Doing this kind of work is time consuming enough as it is, and after my 9 years of doing it, I don't need these kinds of hassles just to get paid.
