We are planning a fall vacation to Ontario, and some of the US companies I shop for also list shops in Canada. If I do pick up some shops,do I need to consider the potential of having to file/pay taxes in Canada? |

Kevin, that is an interesting question and I do not claim to know the answer.
But, just off the top of my head, it would seem to me that if you are working for a US company and they are the ones paying you, you would only be concerned with a US tax return.
I would think you would only file a return for Canada if you were paid by a Canadian company.
I will keep watching for an answer to your question from someone who really knows for sure. |

If they are a US based company this could get complicated.
On your taxes it asks if you have any money in a foreign country in the year. This is where in the case of you it gets complicated. You work for a US company but will be doing stores in another country. SO I would just say don't even attempt to work just have a great time. |
