For those of you who are frequent fliers, or who bid on mystery shops requiring travel...

Southwest Airlines has a companion pass that allows your companion to fly with you FREE, whether using points or cash to redeem a ticket. You have to earn 110,000 points in a calendar year to get it. We are almost there, and looking forward to hopefully being more competitive on travel bids.

Chase offers a 50,000 point bonus for their Premier cards - you can open a personal one and a business one. If you can meet the spending requirements ($2000 in first three months), you get the bonus. That's $104,000 right there. $6k more in the calendar year.

The bonus fluctuates so you have to apply when it's 50k, not 25k. If you spend a lot, doing it this year could work. However, if you apply in January 2016 (assuming it's 50k bonus) for both cards, when you get to the 110,000 mark, it's good for the rest of the year and the whole following year, so 2016 and 2017.
